I got a crack in my 720 screen it is a warranty item caused apparently by incorrect placement/amount of adhesive causing stress crack, I booked it in a week later and the screen was fitted in a couple of days no problems.....
I too am wondering about the 650S comments, since becoming interested in Mclarens I now look at 911s differently and hate to say it but I find the new GT2RS kind of clunky looking whereas all Mclarens even the 12C look fresh and very modern and of course their construction and performance really sets them apart from Porsche who are just carrying on on the incremental improvement route, Of course the depreciation issue is crap but like RC I buy what I want to drive and can afford, my 720 could be the first 90KKm car the way I'm piling on the miles so it will be worth ziltch

SciFrog:You think Ferrari is better? I have been waiting for a part for my 612 for 18 weeks... The 650S outdated? Less outdated that any modern 911 that was outdated before it even was in production (except for GT models).
Of course Ferrari isn't much better...
The 650S isn't outdated of course, I almost got myself a 12C (even this one isn't outdated) my Lamborghini dealer offered for slightly over 100k with very low mileage (collector's car, only had a couple of hundreds of kms, sold fast).

Among all the McLaren, I still think the 12C looks the best. The 6 series cars all had the joker face and it's basically the worse thing they could ever do to the car. The 720 abandoned that shit face and actually looks good with that new face.
The 5 series had a modified joker face but still it can only be called as not as ugly.
Underneath all the mascara, they are all basically the same car, just with more power. A 12C is still a perfectly fine car, and with prices on them sort of stabilized, they are a good buy as a alternative to a bunch of 911 variants. Unless of course someone is looking for cargo room or awd.

Seriously looking for a good one. Anyone want a perfectly fine 997.1 turbo for trade?

The GT is official

Hmm, the launch colour is "interesting", carefully worded.
But it's a nice concept, perhaps a bit generic looking, but not bad at all.
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.
That McLaren 12C platform is really quite versatile, look at how many variants they can build out of it, from 540 all the way up to P1 and everything in between. Quite like the Porsche 911 body in white.
This GT drew my interest back to McLaren again.
I might have to wait a couple years to find a used one though.
This feels like what the new NSX should have been. Interestingly, the automotive obsession with carrying golf clubs in expensive cars continues.
I think part of the appeal might be due to a slightly more subdued design. Easier to use as a daily without standing out too much.

It is based on Monocage II-T and not on Monocage I as 12c

Mithras:SciFrog:How come some of you feel this is more interesting than the other McLaren before?
It doesn't have a joker face. It's a (little) more elegant. It's not as attention grabbing.
Exactly. The worse part of a McLaren before was the joker face, the modified 540/570 joker face as an improvement, but this one loses that hideous face completely.
