    I still remember 3 years ago when I got the orange GT3RS she was complaining about the harsh ride and uncomfortable seat, while already better than the ones in the 918 she still hates it. 

    This one has the same seat and rides even harsher.Smiley

    Nick, look on the positive side. You made her rich and exposed her to high performance sport cars. She has left the nest and now sowing her oats. Getting rid of the Huracan and replacing it with a LG RS is the smart thing to do. smiley

    There are some details about the next evolution of the  4.0 NA engine in the press release about the new speedster, unfortunately in German language:

    Gegenüber dem bisherigen 911 GT3 besitzt das Aggregat im Speedster zwei Ottopartikelfilter (OPF) und erfüllt die Abgasnorm Euro 6d TEMP-EVAP-ISC (EU6 DG). Dennoch leistet der Vierventilmotor zehn PS mehr. Dies verdankt er Detailverbesserungen wie etwa Hochdruck-Einspritzinjektoren mit optimiertem Strahlbild und einer modifizierten Sauganlage mit Einzeldrosselklappen, die ein noch spontaneres Ansprechen auf Gasbefehle ermöglichen. Die neu entwickelte Leichtbau-Edelstahl-Sportabgasanlage bringt zehn Kilogramm weniger auf die Waage – inklusive der beiden Partikelfilter.

    in short: +10 HP vs GT3, 2 OPF, new exhaust -10kg incl OPF, new injection valves, new intake duct with separate throttle valves.

    High-revving engine with 510 PS

    The heart of the new Speedster is adopted from the 911 GT3. The naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine with four-litre displacement is a pure GT engine. The peak power of 375 kW (510 PS) is reached at 8,400 rpm, with the maximum engine speed at 9,000 rpm. The engine delivers a maximum torque of 470 newton metres at 6,250 rpm. The new 911 Speedster accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h.

    Compared with the previous 911 GT3, the engine in the Speedster is fitted with two gasoline particulate filters (GPF) and complies with the emission standard Euro 6d TEMP EVAP-ISC (EU6 DG). However, the four-valve engine still manages ten PS more. This is due to improvements to detail such as the high-pressure fuel injectors with optimised spray pattern as well as a modified intake system with individual throttle valves, which enable a more spontaneous response to throttle commands. The newly developed lightweight stainless steel sports exhaust system weighs 10 kilograms less – including the two particulate filters.

    Befitting its status as a driver’s car, Porsche only offers the 911 with a manual six-speed sports transmission. It features an auto-blip function which precisely and independently compensates differences in engine speed between the gears when downshifting through automatic throttle blips. Auto-blip can be activated at any time, in other words also independently from the chosen PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) variable damping system setting. A mechanical rear differential lock with asymmetric locking action rounds off sporty power transmission.

    The GT philosophy behind the new Speedster is also reflected in its chassis. With its sporty rear-axle steering and dynamic engine mounts, the chassis is based on the technology of the 911 GT3 and 911 R. Control systems such as Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and PASM with sports tuning and lowering by 25 millimetres have been precisely adapted to the new requirements. The open-top two-seater runs on 20-inch forged Speedster alloy wheels with central locks. The standard equipment includes PCCB brakes (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake) with internally vented and perforated ceramic composite brake discs.

    Funny: My Performante has Euro 6d temp without any particulate filter. yes smiley I always said it: Italian technology is the best.

    Thanks for the link, I agree with the man, they really are the go-to address for your Porsche if you plan to take it on track. I feel very uncomfortable leaving my car at a regular dealership as they don't seem to understand sportscars anymore, whereas leaving it at Manthey you know it will return in its best possible shape.

    I've had the same mods done as in the vid (took a bit more work/expense on a non-RS) and it does make the car noticeably grippier/more positive on track. If I'm not mistaken Gnil had it done as well. I didn't go for the Cup 2 R's yet though, but positively surprised with the Dunlops I now have fitted.

    I feel very uncomfortable leaving my car at a regular dealership as they don't seem to understand sportscars anymore, whereas leaving it at Manthey you know it will return in its best possible shape.

    I feel the same - I just did my own spark plugs, even though this is part of a free service at the dealer.  The car never comes back as good as it left when I go to the dealer service center...

    When we were at Manthey I had a totally different feeling - wish we had one near home (but still a great place to visit) Smiley

    Sadly, CUP R are not available for GT3s...SmileyYou will have to go with the Trofeo R which is about the same Smiley

    I had them on my 997, happy on track but miserable in the rain. I trust they have improved since then though...

    If I'm not mistaken Gnil had it done as well.

    Yes, done all the set up . Best one I have had , after trying 2 other ones .  And they told me there still room for me to play with the sway bars , but I have not tried to change those settings 

    And like you , I was very happy with the latest Dunlops, nice and progressive , good longevity and not bad at all in the rain  . I have now fitted to Cup2 N2 . We will see .

    It's not dramatic, but certainly noticeable.

    + 1 The steering is now much more nervous and you have to hold it firmly compared to the factory setting , but ... I like it . It makes the car more alive and less docile

    did you add the extended shims for more camber?

    I am still stock, front goes barely below -2.2 without touching the struts and risking to weaken the suspension chamber. did Manthey touched the top struts?

    the only downside of Trofeos is that they will not last more than 2 to 3 hard track days and they are good to replace after 800kms...grip for hot lap at a very short period of life cycle.

    Surprisingly Dubai saw more rain this year than any previous years in recent memory, but still thats not much to saySmiley

    I am still stock, front goes barely below -2.2 without touching the struts and risking to weaken the suspension chamber. did Manthey touched the top struts?

    I have different top struts, either from the RS or from the Cup, it has a Porsche serial number for sure. It has extended shims as well.

    My brother just had a geometry / alignment done on his GT3 at his former Cup Race team . They also changed the top struts for the Cup/RS  ( they are the same ) ones . It allows for more camber .

    Yep, that's another issue... In Germany also often difficult to get or too expensive (some dealers make it a habit to add a premium).
