MKSGR:SciFrog:Daily driver sport cars.
You are the delusional one my friend. The Tesla Roadster is completely a DIRECT competitor of the regular models of the 911. Have you read people’s comments above? The 992 is a muted no emotion evolution that fits a safer more confortable driving style. Maybe we should move this to the Roadster thread though... And for the record I was not the one to bring Tesla in this thread
Most of all the Tesla Roadster is a phantasy not a car you can buy...
Seriously, the 992 is the perfect package for people who don't need more space and who want to have the best technology in the best handling car every single day. I cannot think of any alternatives for myself. I just hope the turbo s will be available early next spring. 650hp is enough, given all the perfect technology this car offers as a daily driver
I have to agree here: Best daily diver sports car ever.

dertub:Thanks, Carlos!
Sport Design = pay more to make it look like a 991
Interior is a disaster. Shifter is small penis design edition.
I will wait a few more years.
I guess Porsche went by the "size doesn't matter" philosophy but we all know that this is a lie, just political correctness or some women trying to make their men feel better.
Just like the "be yourself, if you feel good, stay the way you are" (people who weight over 150 kg). I beg to differ: Let's talk to those "big" guys/girls who have diabetes, serious joint pains/issues, heart diseases and whatnot else.
We live in a politically correct world, everything is OK (I am still surprised pedophilia isn't accepted yet...give it time, maybe in the next decade ) nowadays.

SciFrog:Black hides all the design elements... it probably looked like the last 6 911 designs...
Looks great in other colors as well. Very well defined side lines (front wheel arches), very powerful rear (due to larger rear wheels). All very nice in real life! Just the interior looks a bit cheap, maybe.

SciFrog:Wonderbar:What does a Tesla Roadster cost? A Huracan Performente?
Could be vapor ware still but base price is $200k. Unless they depart from the other models, $210k should get you anything you want/need in terms of feature, wheels and colors. The equivalent 991.2 TTS cab is $208k without anything fancy like carbon, and the roadster should be 1.5s+ faster in the quarter mile. How it would handle is a mystery. That said rumored top speed is 250mph vs 205 for the Porsche. So on some aspects, they are not even in the same category, the Tesla coud actually be a bargain and seat 4 people... Specs as of today are hypercar territory, except the weight (4,200lbs?).
The more I read about it, the more I want to put a deposit. But since I don’t want an early production one for obvious reasons...
The 'launch car' were 1/4 mil a piece in deposit in case you forgot. It could go up more still.
Ad if you think that vapourware can do a 1/4 mile drag 1.5+sec faster you are sadly mistaken.
Launch cars were always the most expensive ones you could buy, base price was significantly lower on S X and 3. Base price of the roadster is $200k for a base performance of 0-60 2.1s, other models will be more but faster, everything is vaporware until you can have one in your garage. Deposit is $50k for base model.
Can’t wait to see a 992 in real.

MKSGR:996FourEss:Saw a black 992 on the road and it looked pretty alright to me.
Absolutely. Whenever I saw one recently I felt it is a major improvement in terms of design vs the 991
Wow, you're too early, by about 6 weeks. We're still at the stage where the new design is an abortion, it's bringing the end of times, and we all need to figure out how to find an alternative. Please report in a month or two.

I like the rear, hate the front (nothing new here, 99% of people cannot tell the difference vs other 911 models). This will be corrected with the facelift though.

I like the look (the front could be a bit more innovative...design-wise) but the driving is the issue here, not necessarily the (still classic) 911 design.

I enjoyed this review very much, thanks for sharing.
Didn't know this guy before, really a great review indeed. Sums it up all perfectly, best 911 of all time, on its infinite way to perfection.

The front grill is not much different from the 991, it seems in real life. However, the wider front arches are very beautiful

They will give the 992 new (smaller) front lights and they will fit the 992 perfectly (I hope).
