Carlos from Spain:RC:Just in case there is some misunderstanding...I was referring to your C class and my E class.

I prefer the rectangular large tablet against the tiny screen they put in facelift C-class, it looks like Mercedes voluntarily ruins it for people to shop above.
I fear this tech everywhere will age badly and not only for Mercedes.
did you start to push it a bit? the growl of their V8 turbo is really nice and must be even better in that configuration

The engine is fantastic but only fun in Sport+ mode... This is when the rear begins to dance, even on completely dry surface and higher speeds. I had the ESP lamp coming on at 140(!) kph on the Autobahn, no fun. Car has already almost 6000 km (I'm not kidding).
The interior is very questionable, I'm not a fan of Mercedes interiors but I like the interior of my E63 much more, especially that dual screen setup (still not as stylish as in the Panamera for example). Yes, that widescreen monitor looks aftermarket and I don't have a clue why designers did that??? It is bigger than the older one though, also better resolution. The car has the digital cockpit, which is great.
Most importantly, the new 9-speed MCT gearbox is fantastic, no comparison to the old one.
The neck heating system in the headrest is also great, very interesting concept. However, the electrically retractable/deployable wind deflector in the 991.1 and 991.2 cabriolets I had was a thousand times better, also much better (Porsche) wind protection at higher speeds.
The C63 S cabriolet is more of a cruiser, not really a serious sportscar. The traction issues are annoying but the car is fun to drive, you just need to be careful. Sound is also better than expected, considering that the car has a particulate filter. The V8 growl is deeper and more noticeable than in the previous model but when fully accelerating, the sound is definitely a bit quieter than before.

It looks really cool, love the wide arches. Is there a way to avoid that stupid extra hat/spoiler popping up above the window when driving roofless? It looks ridiculous on modern Mercedes'...

nice car, how is RWD in snowy or winter conditions? Are there any serious issues or is traction control good enough to not get stuck on the road (snow/ icy conditions) resp. does the car still makes "sense" when it's raining?

Thank you, the car looks much better live, especially with those wider fenders. The roof is red, the interior is black/red, my wife wanted it this way, she got bored of black (911).
I didn't order that stupid spoiler popping up above the window because it looks, as you mentioned, really stupid. The wind reflector in the back is sufficient to keep too much circulating air from inside the car but it is manual (not electric, the Porsche 911 solution is much better and easier) and when mounted, you cannot take rear passengers with you in the car. When my wife saw that stupid spoiler popping up from above the windshield, her first reaction was "hell no, what is this ugly thing?".

The new Winter driving mode makes a lot of sense and works quite well, even in rain. It isn't perfect though: My wife wanted to drive up a snowy hill to get to a parking lot at a ski lift and the car barely made it. Well...barely...but it made it and without additional weight in the trunk. Her former M3 Cab (V8) was a catastrophe in winter time, traction was basically non-existent, very bad setup. Definitely a huge improvement but not even close to the traction of a modern 2WD 911 Carrera.
The new traction control (same as AMG GT R) is also quite interesting but you need to turn off ESP, which is not really recommended on public roads: I turned it off on a larger parking lot, had some fun with it but everything above level 8 is quite challenging, for safe driving it is recommended to stay with the levels 1 to 3. I noticed however that the car feels much safer with ESP turned off, it is easier controllable in my opinion. Didn't have much time in the pre-facelift model, so maybe I'm wrong but I could get the new facelift is safer, even if traction is still an issue.
The new 9-speed MCT gearbox is a treat too, so good...
