Makes sense (like 997 RS 4.0). This is my hope for the 550hp limited edition: 4.0L motor from the GT3R with 6 Individual throttles (first time on a road car since 1973) and redline around 9,400 rpm

MKSGR:Gnil:On the other hand, these cars are still the some of the very best cars to have . Not much comes close to the tactile and gut feeling you get in an '' old 991.2 GT3 RS '' , expect maybe the Performante and the Pista . So , still one of the best car to buy ( on a '' normal'' budget )

However, we both know how many humans (with the money to also buy the car) can evaluate the driving experience and get to this conclusion... That's why they oversell by a factor of 5-10x, if you ask me...
Speculators have messed up the numbers , and Porsche just keeps fueling in . Does not look like long term strategy . It will hurt at some stage .
Also Porsche is now thinking way too much about the general public and market . They want to be a more general brand , forgetting what is their DNA . Not sure this strategy is good on long term , once the big change into EV/autonomous/sharing car will happen

Yep, that EV switch could hurt Porsche badly. Their products will be too similar to Audi I'm afraid but maybe I'm wrong.

When the E-Tron is $75k, where does that leave the Macan EV in terms of price positioning? $100k? Then where does the $75k Taycan fit in there? And now we have a $42k Tesla Model Y to fight in the same field (or more precisely a $60k Model Y Performance)...

The problem is not selling the new ones ( if at MSRP price ) The problem will be the 2nd hand market . 5000 991.1 + 5000 991.2 , that makes lots of cars that will need to find an owner and you still need to add the 997 etc....
Such cars are bought new or because they are collectors . If none of the criteria is meet , only a handful of passionate who didn't have the money to buy new will get them . And that market is not so big .

You are the 2nd person that I know that JUST got a GT3RS allocation. It would seems Porsche GB got some extra to dole out.
edit: PTS is available, but you have to be quick. My friend's order just got locked down for a July build.

I don't think it's bad at all that Porsche is "flooding" the market with GT models. There are more and more rich people everyday. Maybe 2.500 units is even a smaller number than 1.000 back in 1999.
I remember the days when you could buy in Spain a 996 GT3 MKI for 48.000€. Commercial sportscars with 5-10 years old should not cost more than brand new

Fully agrée. Just saw my former GT3 RS 991.1 for sale on AutoScout24. The guy who baught jt was a salesman from a Mazda garage . He baught it last July. Now he tries to sell it with 1000km more then when he baught it at 1.5k more then what he paid but with new tire , disks and pads. . Bottom line is , he will loose money on what seems t be another try to speculate. And it will be hard to find a buyer . There are 58 991 for sale for our small 8 million people market .

That's a yes also. But I believe you have to hurry to lock in the PTS.

Yes it is. Therefore no reason to spend an $30,000 for the full Weissach package.

.... my WP was « only « 17.5k I did not take the rims nor the magnesium roll cage. WP is not necessary 30k !
People who ordered a second batch one in Europe have received a form to sign informing them that for the moment Porsche can not give them any CO2 levels nor consumption ....
To me this sounds like for the moment the RS has not passed the WLTP certification . And it has been said that is also the reason the GT4 is not on the market yet

watt:New Zealand is buried in excess GT2 and RS allocations, the dealers are panicking, Sun gets a call a week. As we roll into a recession, great opportunities to buy low miles cheap will abound.

In a few years a 991.2 RS will make an excellent track car. Hopefully by then you guys will have come to your senses and become our 7th state and I will not have to worry about import taxes
