The back is pretty "challenging". It's all a far cry from the launch of the 458 where LDM insisted that all unecessary openings in the body be removed and flowing lines be brought back.
The SP1 and 2 Monza models are the only cars produced by the in house design team that show a return to some sort of purity in design. Everything they have produced since replacing Pinifarina has been a jumbled mass of cuts and sharp lines that they have tried to tell us are necessitated by aero. It is therefore funny to see these "necessary items" - front winglet whiskers on the 458, aero bridge on the F12 - simply disappear on the facelited models and replaced by other styling tweaks. If they truly were vital to the car's performance you would expect to see modifications to these elements on the successor models as opposed to them simply being discarded.
Some of the more challenging Pinifarina designs that were way ahead of their time at launch, such as the Testarossa/512 series above, were shockingly disrutptive compared to the models they replaced but have become much more appealing as they age. I very much doubt the same will happen with the F8, 488, California T, Portofino, 812 etc which are all an awkward collection of non-harmoinoius design elements that simply do not flow seemlessly into one another.

What a coincidence that you posted this picture: One of our friends has a beautiful young (under 30) wife, she looks quite similar to the woman on this pic. She is crazy about her looks, every little wrinkle is botoxed immediately but surprisingly, so far, her doctor has done a great job, she looks stunning and quite perfect, not that mask look you usually see with such stuff. Last weekend, we went for a short ski trip to the mountains with our kids and we met her there with a friend, she was having a Spa weekend. Me and my wife had a shock: Her lips looked (almost) the same as the ones in this pic. What had happened? Apparently she developed an allergic reaction to the stuff she got injected into her lips and they were blown out of proportions. Instead of spending the weekend at the hotel Spa, she spent it in her room because she felt ashamed. 
My kids played Monopoly with her, to cheer her up. 
My son asked me afterwards why woman do stuff like that but I told him that he needs to find out for himself when he has a girlfriend.

At first I liked this car so much better then the 488 ...... but now not so sure anymore , slightly better, but still not appealing . Too many change of angles everywhere , so me soft, some sharp ..... looks like a mixe of too many designs .
also red does not suit it ...... strange for a Ferrari

The rear wheels look strangely small and not centered. Only from certain angles is it really bad but it's an uncomfortableness to the design. As previously said by ISUK I don't think this or many of the most modern Ferrari designs will age as gracefully as in the past.

Ferrari will be glad that the Batista is likely not in close proximity to their stand. It completely eclipses the mish mash that is the F8 and proves just how wrong Ferrari were to drop them as their design partners. Pinifarina have always been masters at taught surfacing and curvaceous design. If the Batista wore McLaren badging Woking's fortunes might improve overnight as well.
