Hmm...I read similar stuff in a German car forum...when it came to the Urus and other SUVs. 
No, I would never buy a BMW X6 or a Mercedes GLC Coupe or the Cayenne Coupe for that matter but your words worry me, they worry me because I heard/read this stuff from too many people here in Germany and I still have to ask myself what taste and car choices have to do with the intellect.

Regarding the look, it's a matter of teste I would say. I think it will look better than Cayenne and Macan. Regarding the "use", well why exactly you think it's useless? It looks much sportier but still not much smaller than the Cayenne. Many brands have this type of SUV and it's kinda successful - X6, X4, Merc GLC, Urus etc.

IMO the X6 is the only one that I'd consider for myself. But VW Group has to get their moneys worth out of the R&D and if they already did it for the URUS and the Q8, then you can be sure they were going to get their premium margin out of a Porsche product. In fact given the slow sales of the Bentayga it wouldn't surprise me if they tried to use the same platform to spice that up a bit.

I‘m really not the biggest fan of the SUV, a SUV is definitely no car for me, no matter how big or small the SUV may be. But I can understand - to a certain extent - that many favour a SUV to a sedan (felt security, higher seating position) and especially in Germany the SUV took over the role that was once occupied by the station wagon.

Actually, I'm not that of a big SUV either (hard to believe, I know) but with family (kids), there is no better car, especially if you live in an area like Bavaria (I was at least 6x in Austria over the past two months, lots of snow).
It is a bit of a dilemma here in Germany: Many people say they hate or don't like SUVs but then, they get one. Best examples are one of my neighbors (he was always making fun of our SUVs, now he has a BMW X3...nothing big but still) and my best friend who isn't too much into cars, always drove BMW 3 series station wagons and now he drives a...BMW X1. 
Yes, I'm not a fan of the Cayenne Coupe but I like the Audi Q8 and I love the Urus. Can't help it.

There is a deep irony that Porsche will not allow the modern style pepita fabric as an option on the regular 911 models when it was the 911 that this fabric was originally used in. Now here they are shamelessly pimping out their heritage by putting it into this late to the party coupe SUV

the Lava Orange color proposed is probably the cherry on the cake, 2.5KEuros... French website shows the ''lightweight pack'' as the carbon roof, GT style wheels, carbon diffuser and pepita interior for 13KEuros...
