CloseFirst time out in the car since Christmas. Odd smell soon became apparent. Sounds like pea shingle rolling around in the car.
I think I may have had some unwanted guests stashing food somewhere in the rear. All seems to work so hopefully no chewing damage! Will take the bumper off to see what I can find. Hope whatever they are - they haven't sought sanctuary in the airbox....

Sorry to hear that, hipefully they haven't chewed any cables as you say. A guy here started to get strange warnings from the OBC and turns out there werent any mechanical failures, it was some critters that had a field day with some of cables

spudgun:Top Tip: those blue 'blocks' you hang in the toilet scare them away. If you hang some in the engine bay (where it doesn't get too hot), you won't have any visitors.
Flip-side, your car smells like toilet.

If you get hungry on long trips you know where to go..
Fortunately we do not have do deal with furry critters in cars. The food chain takes care of that.
Last year my friends 991 R and his 997 4.0 were attacked over the winter...both cars went to Zuffenhausen for repair.
The insurance paid a lots of € for the mice-damage.
Since then, we all use these very effektive "Tunnel-traps" in our garages - from November untill now they killed 4 of these intruders in my garage.

Today I've been mostly extracting dog biscuits with a bodged hoover attachment (felt like a dental nurse oddly). I've recovered four dyson's worth so far. Only the stragglers left it seems - so this may take some time.... Thanksfully, they don't seem to have chewed anything. (I know have five traps awaiting their(it's) return.
