That GT3 looks awesome but man... with that missing wing there must be a nice rebate. Smiley

The GT2 bonnet always comes in cf, only the Weissach package features the painted middle stripe.

    That's a GT3 RS though with that cf bonnet. Not a 2...

GT2RS and GT3RS shares the same bonnet

That's not the point, the point is that the GT2 RS comes standard with a fully CF bonnet, and the GT3 RS needs a Weissach package to have a fully CF bonnet. This 3 RS was specced with out a Weissach package and came with the CF bonnet, according to poster.

Exactly my point, the other clue is the roof is a standard roof.  If it was a Weissach car it should have been exposed carbon fiber.  It's hard to tell with a black car, but this one clearly had the magnesium roof.  Customer got lucky from someone at the factory messing up.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

I should send him my green bonnet  and he could give me my missing WP one. Would look good on the black car indecision

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

That’s not a small mess up that’s a big mess up. Or it could be that there was no carbon bonnet to be painted available as all the car have a carbon bonnet so they just put this one on to deliver the car and replace it later.

yes, indeed . All that for the last shiny layer ...... at least we have now 2 bonnets , and they are worth a fortune ..... nearly pays for the whole WP indecision

A spare CF bonnet would make an interesting coffee table; perhaps artfully balanced on a set of magnesium wheels....Smiley

a table that would cost nearly the price of two Tesla 3 Smiley

And that table will have less emission than those 2 Model 3s too!Smiley

40EB7948-4F80-4668-848D-2DD96A329869.jpegPretty interesting. Now that we know the number of RS produced for North America are we able to know what the total is ?

Some of the options ( like front lift ) have been taken nearly 90% of all orders. Should they not be standard ?

That front lift system is something I feel in the long run will give issues. Anyway in the US they need it as road conditions are pretty bad.

The RS has a different lift system than the GT3 (new one hydraulic vs. pneumatic in the GT3).  RS version costs much more and maybe is more reliable?

Soon...I guess. If the cars aren't "sold" already, many dealers made commitments to customers, at least those who are aware of these allocations. I just hope nothing goes wrong and Porsche doesn't make the GT3 RS anymore but I doubt it.

My RS gets a lot of attention. The combination of LG, black accents, spoiler and sound generates a lot of thumbs up. Significantly more than the GT3 and as much f not more than the Ferrari’s I owned. It’s a sensational car. I love the rawness.

I agree the RS feels brilliant though I am still running in the engine slowly. But I can already feel the engine has become a lot smoother after 800km and slow driving.

Next deliveries in Germany of 991.2 GT3 RS due to start in June 2019 (with PF of course).

Production probably over a couple of months only due to delay of production restart (cause = WLTP issue on all models).

Will non-EU cars have the PF?

EU cars as per what Gohard said, from last talk I got about it, it was cars re-starting from Feb and owards to summer at least.

ROW for sure is not going to follow this weird schedule...and no, no PF.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

    Thanks Missile.

The interruption in EU production may explain why I got a last minute (unexpected) allocation. I had actually given up hope so I ordered a 720S a few months back. Because of that and other personal reasons I have asked for the RS to be delivered as late as possibleyes.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Can you cancel your 720S order? Or do you plan to take the GT3 RS on top?

720S is performance-wise another league (price-wise too!), but at least here in Europe, depreciation of McL cars is by far higher than Porsche GT models...

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

No, can't cancel 720 without loosing a substantial deposit and in any case REALLY want it!  Will trade my 650 for the 720. Unfortunately now I will have to trade my 997.2TT for the RS for both financial reasons and lack of garage space. Loosing the 997 was not in the original plan and I will miss itSmiley The late delivery for the RS works for both financial reasons and I will also be having a medical procedure mid year which will put me out of action (driving) for a few weeks.

In actual fact I originally requested a GT2 RS (with GT3 RS as second option) and was going to trade the 650 for the GT2 but not lucky enough to score either initially so I ordered the 720 and then the GT3 RS came up which I couldn't say no to!! If I scored the GT2 earlier I probably would not have ordered the 720.

In Australia the GT2 as I would have optioned it would have been considerably more expensive than the 720 with a few options (about AUD760k vs 600K) so its not as bad from a financial point of view as it initially seems providing I trade the 997. High end Porsche cars in Australia are closer (and sometimes higher) in price than Mc and F cars than they are in EU/US. It's all supply and demand.

Not sure the production will be for two months only...we'll see. Car will be Euro 6d temp and WLTP compliant.

I heard something of 2000-3000 cars but of course, this could be wrong. I have to rely on rumors and regarding the next GT3 RS batch, (accurate) rumors are pretty difficult to get.
