    Last drive before winter ( pics )

    I did yesterday my last drive before I have put the car to sleep for the winter .

    The weather  and colors were fantastic . 18 degrees on the 12th of November is pretty nice Smiley

    I went to a local pass that will soon be closed when the snow arrives .  In my 45 min driving it , I encountered one car and one cyclist . Pretty nice to have a pass all to myself Smiley  Who says we can not drive in piece in CH Smiley

    The pass has tight corners and the road is very bumpy , so even within speed limits one has to hold the car tightly and you get plenty of sensations . Front lip touched quite a few times . 

    My car has now 7'700 km since I got it in August . It will need new tires in spring . By then , the visible carbon hood and the carbon on the steering  from the Weissach pack should be finally  on the car .

    I can see from the "suspicious" dark marks on the road why you will need new tires in spring

    Aren't there a bit too many black marks to make them mine Smiley These has been there some sort of  a classic car mountain race a few weeks back .   Can't be me ,  I leave the ESP on 

    @Bluelines : You should do this pass , it is close to your week end place . Worth it , just choose outside summer season .

    Wonderful photos Gnil, what a day you had.   Especially love the second to last shot, with the alpine larch needles changing colour.  Our "last scenic drive" was now 3 weeks ago, snow on the streets this past week, so the 911 is already in bed till 2019.  

    On the tires though, is 7700 km expected life for these??

    Looking at your avatar I can see you do Smiley   Here it snowed about two weeks ago for a week end in the mountain, but all melted already . Now with 12 degrees we are still far from snow ...

    About the  Dunlop Race Maxx : They could do more, they could do less . Smiley I am pretty happy to have done 7700 km including 3  track days on  '' real '' tracks + 2 days at the Ring . The rest being 80 %  highway and 20%  B roads

    Beautiful scenery and a beautiful car-- your drive must have been awesome! I'm sure it'll be tough not being able to drive your RS during winter, but the good news is that after its hibernation it'll be ready to go again. Plus, with brand new tires and the carbon hood it'll feel like a brand new car once more indecision
