Sounds about right.
720S is basically the P1 without the hybrid system. And the P1's hybrid system only runs part time. Perfectly reasonable time being half a second off.
Tires isn't an issue IMO.
When comparing street cars in stock form, 'stock' tires are the key. It doesn't matter if a stickier tire is available in the same sizes, those stickier tires were not tested nor shipped by the manufacturers, so by using those tires the car became non-stock.
A P1 originally shipped with P Zero Crosas, then Mclaren certify the Trofeo R on them, so max tire for P1 is Trofeo R. All because McLaren realized their P1 is getting destroyed on track with the Corsa by the equal tire from Michelin, the Cup 2s. Doesn't matter anyways for the P1, it is way under tired for sizes from the factory so make no difference when comparing to the 918 with the 918 running on inferior ECO rated N0 Cup2s. Had 918 runs on the Cup 2 N1 or the N2 or the current best in class cheater tire Cup2 Rs, the performance gap would be impossibly embarrassing for the P1.
A 720S is also originally shipped with Corsas with Trofeo R being the option tire. But from the video clip it would seems the 720S is definitely running on Corsas. I would not be surprised if the P1 is running Trofeo Rs, it's a factory car and it would look bad if the P1 loses to the 720S also in addition to the 918 and LaFerrari.

The 720s has P-Zero as standard and Corsa as optional tires no Trofeos right now.

My local (German) McLaren dealer has two 720S available, both used (one with only 800 km). So if someone wants/needs a 720S fast, no problem. I guess it is not different with other dealers in Germany.

Those two "tablets" sticking out of the laterals of such a clean and integrated dash just hurt my eyes, but I love seeing the 1+2 sitting position of the old F1, makes it special.
The outside seems like an outdated strambotic design from the 70's... and makes it look like is an overweight and sluggish car IMO. Not very flattering.

I like how the Speedtail looks inside and outside 
The styling is very technical, dynamically purposeful and race car-like. It hints at the Long-tail endurance racing cars.
The price will be $2 million for 1000PS which is reasonable given that Porsche ask for $1 million for their new-935 (a 700PS GT2RS parody with a funny body kit) and Ferrari $1.8million for their 800PS Monza (a retro caricature of some1950s racers).
McLaren are rising in stature in the sports car world whereas Porsche are lost between the numerous versions of the 911, old history allusions and run-of-the-mill SUVs.

Somehow, McLaren keep topping themselves in creating ugly cars.
Didn't think they could go any lower than the Senna but wow, they smashed that to bits with the Speedtail.
But on the other hand, recreating the 1+2 is a great thing, and the interior is lovely, don't have the specs yet but it should still be riding on the 12C platform, same wheelbase and hard point locations. And likely same battery on top of gas tank configuration of the P1. And if they swap that around, then it would just announced to the world that the P1 was a hack job in the first place, and confirmed everyone's opinion was correct all along.
