    Re: 992 Thread Closed

The front looks exactly the same as the last two or three models, big yawn.

They are not really going with that stupid lever right? I thought it was a joke. Glad to see they realized hybrid is just not ready and a total waste for now.

Smiley Smiley Mild hybrids make a lot of sense in a sportscar like the 911, you'll see. Two advantages: Lowering emissions and improving performance (yes).

Smiley 992 stays 6-cyl. but the hybrid will improve performance a lot, both from a stop and for a short time as some sort of additional boost. The hybrid is rumored to be very useful in the next Turbo/S.

Weight? Well... Smiley On the other hand, look at the E63 S and the track performance of this car and it doesn't even have RWS yet. Smiley If they manage to develop "proper" tires in the future, you can destroy other cars on the track and drive home in comfort. Smiley Just kidding, I get your point with the weight but this is how it is, cars get heavier...

I wish Porsche would take a look at McLaren but to be honest, with new emissions laws and crash requirements, I am very curious how McLaren is actually going to handle this.

    I know right?

The 992 simply looks gigantic to me.

964, or basically anything before 996 is the perfect size 911!

More like they need to be bigger to accommodate the ever bigger Americans.

Try fitting 2 modern day sized Americans in a 964. They won't fit without touching each other.

How long do you think the 911 will stay 6-cylinder? Smiley

What they've done to the Boxster is the next logical step to do to the 911. Smiley

Watt, make no mistake, the new Carrera S will be quite fast on the track, even if it is slightly longer (2cm I think, not sure I remember right) and heavier (35 kg so far...) than the old one.

Of course, but it still looks like a PanemeraSmiley
