I think the Corvette body has too much going on. The pointed front bumper conflicts with the arch of the front fenders, the ribbing on the hood, the complex situation of bends on the side panels, the "baby diaper" rear end. The side view looks like the car is sagging in the middle.
It's like the designers are afraid to drop visual elements, they just retain them over the years, they're afraid to _simplify_ the car otherwise it will lose appeal.
I dunno..., I'm struggling. I _WANT_ to like the looks of the vette. I just can't get past the lack of simplicity.
Like this ordinary extremely popular bathroom hardware. To sell and have mass appeal it's gotta be dumbed-down and made "special" by adding more confusing ornamentation.
