Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

Well, only 2 races left this season: China and Brazil. Only 5 points difference in the Drivers' Championship Also looks like the winner of the last 2 races (Alonso) may be staying at Renault. If they can find some more power with the lift in the engine freeze, Renault could be very competitive next season

Next season could be very close between Ferrari, McLaren, BMW and Renault....

Meanwhile, back to Shanghai, I expect Ferrari to be very strong this weekend

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

It would be nice to have a stewards' decision-free race in China just to settle things a little before the deciding race in Brazil.

Yeah, let's hope LH doesn't drive like a blind madman this time, so that the stewards don't have to fairly punish him and we don't have to read more ridiculous conspiracy theories from his fanboys..

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

LH fastest in practice this morning c'mon Lewis

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

Felipe really has to show what he is capable of...Kimi needs to help as much as possible, as well as Alonso..

I thought I was never going to say this , but.....

    CAMMON FELIPEEEE!!!!!

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

Can the FIA deduct points from a driver? I mean points he has already won in previous GPs.
If so, don't be surprised if LH loses some in the last races.
Kimi wins the last two GPs, Hamilton DNFs and the FIA gives him a 4 point penalty

That would be a good scenario!

Kimi is the only decent and likeable personality left in F1!

No no Kubica and Alonso are the best in F1.

    Sure if being somebody is

to complain about everything and everyone when you don't win

or to verbally attack other drivers who overtook you

or to express negative opinions about circuits where you failed to get results

or to talk too much and all the time to the press without making any sense,

    then Kimi is a nobody!

Being a member of the press doesn't mean you can annoy and harrass people under any circumstances.

They say that Press is the "Fourth Power" and this has gone to many journalists'/photoreporters' head in recent years.

You see many sports and entertainement people and even politicians being continuously annoyed by the press. Being a public figure or a celebrity doesn't mean you need to have a reporter breathing down your neck everywhere and all the time.

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

I cant see whats going on in that clip. Is Kimi headbutting or pushing a cameraman? ...or simply helping him take a powernap?

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

You can say a lot of things about Kimi, especially about his lack of enthusiasm and quiet/apathic/indifferent personality, but his apparent lack of interest in very many things also reflects on his comments on other drivers.
When asked about Hamilton, he said; "He is fast and he is leading". Dull, perhaps - but very much to the point and some might even say diplomatic.
I miss some life, enthusiasm and passion in Kimi - but of the guys we consider top drivers he is by far the one with the coolest and most sportsmanlike behaviour.
So when Kimi is mad or annoyed, it's usually for a very good reason.
Which is why I pay attention when he complains about LH and his driving.

I miss Rubens Barichello on top. He was not a flamboyant or glowing person/driver, but he seemed to be the nicest of the bunch.

The cameraman is attempting to hit Kimi with his apparatus and Kimi takes evasive action. That's how I see it from where I stand

Oh, I have been in that situation myself a few times. Getting my apparatus caught in the middle, just trying to help....but the women always saw it as some sort of intrusion...strange

He doesn't speak for the sake of speaking or finding excuses for bad performance. This is a good characteristic in my way of thinking.

He speaks and criticises only when there is valid reason to do so. And what he says carries more weight for me.

Of course very few tifosi from southern europe or latin countries can understand the psyche of a nordic man from Finland.

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

Heh. Few people from Finland understand the psyche of Kimi

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

Good to see the main contenders are at the front of the grid.

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

looks like is going to be interesting ...

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

    Lewis on top! Go Lewis!

This could possibly be the deciding race

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

Another funny stunt by Ferrari and most likely nothing from the FIA!

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

Well that was a tad dull, but nicely sets it up for the final race.

Did the punish McLaren when they did the same thing twice?

Anyway, congratulations to the Golden Boy for winning the WDC!

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

Indeed congrats to Lewis as he held his nerves and came out on top . Next is to finish fifth or higher .

    Go Lewis Go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

I appreciate Kimi's honesty (it wasn't naivite) of admitting that he let Massa pass him. Massa tried t0 cover it up as if he is the only clever guy amongst millions of viewers.

BTW this is against the rules (conceding a place on purpose whether to your team mate or to anybody else) even in the absence of express team orders!

Re: Chinese F1 Grand Prix at Shanghai

This must have been the most boring F1 race I have ever watched!
In fact, top players from the medical industry are considering just how much of a threat F1 is to one their major incomes: Barbiturates!
"Can't sleep? Feeling stressed and on edge? Just watch a Formula 1 Grand Prix!".

The Ferrari team order was so obvious that I was wondering why they even bothered making it look like anything else.
I don't like the way Ferrari handled it back when Barri was given a direct order to let MS win and hence demonstrated this by slowing donw to a halt and letting MS pass, and I generally find it unsporting - but on the other hand, F1 is hardly a sport, but a business.
I find it equally dumb to have your out-of-contention driver in essence take valuable points from your only chance at the WDC, especially when Kimi (in this case) wasn't noticably faster than Massa.
If Kimi had driven his pants off and was leading by 40 seconds and then suddenly gone slower to let Massa pass, that would have been a different story. Team orders can be unsportning as hell, but sometimes it is down-right silly not to have them and use them.

I dunno what happened to Ferrari, but I guess the same thing that has happened the rest of the season: They cant get enough heat into the tires.
I really hope they solve this for next season.

As for the last race, we will see either Massa or LH win the WDC.
This is like choosing between two different kinds of herpes: It's like a bad joke and you know you have to live with that sh1t for a long time.
