The problem is people don’t use in car nav anymore... Waze is just so much better.

So much better than the stock nav systems definitely, those get outdated quickly and neither the GUI not the info in them are not developed at the same rate, not connected to the cloud data.

That said, I have both Waze and GMaps and while both are from Google I prefer the later myself. Waze is good for the traffic info but fortunately I don't have to contend with many traffic jams here, and Google Maps is much better integrated with Google's search engine with all the information on places, businesses, etc and pletora of related information, and is also integrated into the google services ecosistem like streetview, assistant, etc... to me all this info and integration is more useful than the peer traffic info.

The difference in the Netherlands is mainky that Waze does have speedcamera information, whereas Google Maps doesn't... just a hint when travelling through the Netherlands Smiley

My X5 has the fanciest nav but still use Waze when on the road. So much easier. I think nav in cars will disappear in the near future, like the tv-screens in airplanes. Smartphones are way better for the job.

    Re: Porsche 992 Thread Closed

I prefer a Waze as well, but do use my car navigation on occasion. Waze draws a lot of power from your smart phone, and sometimes gives way out-of-the-way directions.  And I also like to have someone in the passenger seat read and interpret Waze, so that I can make quick turns in crowded metropolitan areas.

That's true for many places, but for here I use a spanish speedcamera app that is better than Waze (more updated and accurate locations)  for speedcameras, at the same time as Google's Navigation kiss

Hey Carlos, which app are you using? Does it warn you about fixed, mobile, both? How about accuracy? Lots of false warnings? Thanks in advance.

Hi Alex, its called socialdrive and it is based on realtime alerts from other drivers and because it has become so popular and has so many users its the best to get realtime alets of mobile speedtraps, pegasus helicopter, etc.as soon as the pooice sets them up. Much quicker and accurte than any other app. Here is the link for googleplay, dont know if its available for iphone:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rge.tech.usuarios

I dont use any for fixed speedtraps since I lnow their locations, unless Im traveling to somewhere new, and for that the app Radardroid is the best, and it can screen overlay over google navigation.

    Re: Porsche 992 Thread Closed

taking about speed cams: today i got a speeding ticket by mail, incurred in italy at xmas time in a rental car, going 74km/h in a 50km/h zone (country road, no apparent reason for the 50km/h speed limit except cashing in by putting a speed cam). the fine is 196,40euros, the ticket was sent to my business address in saudi arabia (the address i gave when renting the car). believe it or not, the letter arrived after 7 months!!!! a great cooperation of saudi and italian mail. it says i can appeal within two weeks:::))))

    Re: Porsche 992 Thread Closed

I got one of those in Pisa years ago.  I ignored it and never heard anything back.

The 992 looks weird with the spoiler up, very weird.

    Re: Porsche 992 Thread Closed

I'm liking the interior and most of the exterior...except the spoiler.  I hate the spoiler!  Hopefully it is still a pre-production design but I fear it may be final since the launch is fast approaching.

Maybe it's part of Porsche's plan to get customers to buy a GT2/GT3/Turbo instead...so they don't have an ugly spoiler.

    Re: Porsche 992 Thread Closed

Im really hoping its its not a finished version of the spoiler we are seeing.

BTW, welcome to rennteam carne asada kiss

Thanks Bvineyards!  I have a Macan S right now (very nice!) but am trying to convince myself to downsize to a 992 as my only vehicle (don't have kids and I walk to work).

Going out on a limb with Porsche photoshopped press pictures, but we'll see a red car on a cloudless day on a coastal highway in Iceland.
