    Is it just me or the car?

    I know, I know, its probably my poor driving habits but I though I ask and see if it could be doing something else. I been driving for some 30 years though. While taking off at the light in a hurry the car chokes off few times at different, gears and acts as if its not getting enough gas. Can't even pass a damn truck comfortably without chocking the car few times. So embarrassing man . I have had other FAST cars and never had this problem. I just can' believe in my wildest dream that I hit the limit and haven't even pass the damn truck It's difficult to see the RPM while paying attention to the road (getting old I guess:)) . How could I be hitting the red limnits if I can't even pass a damn truck???? I catch up with them eventually but not before choking the car 2-3 times. I took it to the dealer and we kept pushing it and it wouldn't do it. I have the SPT chrono on when this happens and have Tubi exhust. This car should be screaming fast but man I am giving up. What the hell am I doing wrong? I hope it is just me?

    There has gotta be something wrong with your car, mine is fast as hell, tubi as well.

    Thx Chris. I thought maybe, just maybe the TUBI had something to do with this. Taking it back to the dealer again. My 997C2S never did this, and I pushed it MUCH harder than the TT. They better find out what's wrong or else they can keep it.

    Geez..., with such bad trouble you'd think there'd be a disconnected turbocharger dragging underneath the car.

    My amateur opinion? The guys who installed the aftermarket exhaust screwed up and forgot to tighten or connect or gasket properly.

    If the exhaust was loose at all it would be loud as crap.

    This only happens in 2nd and 3rd gear. I was searching the web and some folks that have 997C2's are having Variocam problem with similar symptoms. The dealer say's if the check engine light does not come on it's very difficult to find the problem but they will see what they can do. Last test drive didn't help. You would think there should be a code in all these computers that tells them somthing. I am so mad. I don't even dare to try taking on a truck at the light

    feeling your pain over this...gotta be optomistic that they can figure out whats causing such a dramatic drop in performance...please stay followed up with the solution

    Here's wishing you the best of luck!

    Hopefully somebody over there has been on the phone asking questions and they'll be better prepared to somehow find the problem, fix it, hand the car back over to you and you'll drive away happy.

    In a few months, you'll have a faded memory of this PITA event.

    are you saying that this aborted acceleration problem happens every time, but when they check it, it never happens? i am sure that you are an experienced driver who drives well, but this all doesn't make sense. i agree with chris-that car should be as fast as hell. let me ask you-are you checking what the boost pressure says on the digital readout when you accelerate?

    I'm probably way off but is it possible you are simply hitting the rev limiter? Compared to a lot of other high performance cars the TT doesn't have a very high redline, and you get there pretty quick, consequently requiring a gear change quite quickly or otherwise getting a "choke off". Has happened to me more than once and can really spoil a fast get away from the lights! Good luck with sorting it out if it's something more sinister...

    Assuming you are not hitting the rev limiter it's probably one of a list of things; some leak in the air system (loose connection, tear etc), MAF sensor, any other sensor such as lavda, vtg actuator (not very likely,symptons not very consistent but I ve heard a lot of actuators go, mine did) or the variocam unit..
    The first three most times do not show a fault in the ecu usually. A faulty actuator does, not sure about the variocam..

    reset to factory mode i.e. Take the exhaust off and go back to the original. No disrespect to you guys that have aftermarket exhausts, but we're all sensible guys here so what stops us remembering that porsche have spent millions developing this car and have carried out enough research to make the car what it is what exactly do you get from having a mod exhaust. Dont get me wrong i love the sound of an exhaust but dont you find that even the standard exhaust gets a bit tiring because of the boominess of it?

    Yes, but 99% of guys who've added aftermarket exhaust have not had this issue. I think you have a vacuum leak. Is it hitting full boost?
