    CCX all Carboned up...

Nicked from another Forum. Thansk Guyz

I see a few desktop pics here.

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

WOW - that's impressive But there's something missing - give me a Zonda F or a Carrera GT anyday

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

Truly awesome shots you've grabbed from that forum.
    Koeni is very impressive indeed.
The interior is missing, that's Koeni weakest point.
The drama on the other hand is there !

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

Note different make of carbon-ceramic brakes.

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

    Weird things I noticed:
    - The lighted guage cluster in the close up shot is not the same as the one as pictued in the car. (the lighted one also happens to be one of the most convuluted confusing designs I've ever seen).

    - The "on - off" turning directions on the wheel nut close up shot, it's stampings are opposite of one another ON THE SAME NUT!

    - The close up of the pedals, the CF is so shiny, I counted 4 pedals at first. I was trying to think - "what the hell is the 4th pedal for?!" until I noticed it was reflection of the gas pedal. ha ha ha!

Yeah, I see it now, haven't noticed it before, haha

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

    fab,grazie!

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

It's confusing but there's two different cars there.

I think they're supposed to twist opposite ways, like a sort of locking nut instead of a conventional single twist. Like the inside center piece spins one way, the outside spins the other.

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

This is CCXR Edition - runs on E85 Biofuel to give 1,018 bhp. Here's something interesting about the car:

"In March 2008, two models - The CCX Edition and the CCXR Edition - were launched at the Geneva Motor Show. Both models are fitted with a remapped, 4.8 liter twin-supercharged Koenigsegg engine. The engine tune in the CCXR Edition is more powerful than that of the standard CCX, developing 1,018 bhp (759 kW) at 7000 rpm and 797 ft.lb (1,081 N.m) of torque at 5600 rpm. The CCX Edition develops 888 bhp (662 kW) at 7000 rpm and 679 ft.lb (921 N.m) of torque at 5800 rpm. In total the Edition produces over 772 lb (350 kg) of downforce at 155 mph (249 km/h).

The Edition CCXR and CCX are more track oriented compared to the standard models, being equipped with stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, reset dampers and a lowered chassis. The Edition CCXR and the CCX also feature a fully visible carbon body, a large adjustable rear wing, larger front splitter and side strakes and a unique forged wheel design.

The interior is also reworked and features: color matched leather carpets, Koenigsegg Edition side step plates, Edition chronograph instrument cluster, a new Edition only layout for the center console control panels, and features a special version of the Koenigsegg Chronocluster including a redesigned center console. All other extra equipment for the Koenigsegg Edition CCXR and CCX comes as standard: carbon wheels, special interior trim and color, rearview camera, Satnav or Bluetooth, amplifiers, complete Inconell exhaust system."

Beautiful car from the outside and in the engine bay, but what a terrible interior

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

I think I'm in love, but that would be one experience escort. I've never seen one in the US, do they import them? not that I can afford it.

    Well, that's a real deal-breaker.

That's right: The nut has a tightening torque of 850 Nm marked on it and the center cover of 250 Nm.

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

AFAIK they do export the car to the states. I believe there's a dealership in Las Vegas. I saw a CCX in Palo Alto a few months ago with the top off. It looks much better in these pictures than it does in real life. The one I saw was painted silver instead of bare carbon which may have taken away from the looks.

agree on every word ... lets just leave the carrega GT out of it and let it be a 2 horse battle

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

Now that's a real "exotic car".....:!

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

The interior center console needs work. Otherwise it's quite a nice car.

There are 2 dealers in USA I believe. Universal Auto in NY and a dealer in Las Vegas (forgot who).

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

The crappy radio and the speedo look completely out. IMO, thats all they need to sort out the interior, rest is perfect.

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

the interior is a mess but the exterior is stunning.

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

I never though I'd say this, but that is too much carbon fibre.

My tought where the same,to put a JVC radio in a car costing this much?!?!

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

...a radio would be the last of my concerns when driving this car...

    Re: CCX all Carboned up...

Hmm, would that be real carbo fibre, or just a layer on top of glass fiber panels?
I don't understand the purpose though. I always understood that CFRP has a specific strength (strength oer unit mass) that is comparable to certain aluminum alloys, unless you tailor the strength to the expected loads. I find it hard to believe that these body panels have structural purposes, do they?
