Cannga,
Don't know who you are but that is the most studly guards red turbo I have seen. Those P40's make that car. I am calling to get some for my GT2 in black ASAP. Do you have spacers to extend out the wheels. I can't quit admiring that car. I had a guards with natural leather, and now I am wishing I had kept that car.
Thank you GT for your kind comment.
Yes, I too am a fan of red/beige or tan combination. That was the one thing about my car's order that was fixed from the beginning. Guards Red, even though it's not as popular a color as it used to be.
Sorry that I didn't notice until now you have a question for me in your post. No there is no spacer; the HRE P43 was designed specifically for the Turbo and therefore has a perfect fit with no modification whatsoever (Are GT2's wheels the same dimension as Turbo's?). I think you'll like it. In the year period waiting for the Turbo, I must have collected EVERY single picture of Porsche wheels out there and in the end recognized the very beautiful match between a classic mesh design like the P43 and the soft round lines of the 911. The fact that a lot of Porsche race cars use the same design is icing on the cake. I always love to mention that I am most likely the first P43 owner in the US. (Alex here is first in Europe.)
As far as who I am: just an out-of-control Porsche nuts, like "some" on this forum. As further proof of this, see my "analysis"
in the enclosed picture. Not all 7-fork mesh designs are the same; the P43 was designed in a clever fashion, making it one of the most pleasing looking mesh wheels out there, all IMHO of course.
BTW don't know if have decided on after-market exhaust for your GT2, but you might want to check if Cargraphic will release one. These guys make exhaust for (some) Porsche cup cars so the racing pedigree is there. I've driven the (fantastic) GT2 so I know what a stock one sounds like; I think the chance is high that you'll find a Cargraphic GT2 exhaust --if they decide to make one-- to be a significant improvement.
