    REPORT: Suspension upgrades with Bilstein + GMG

    Been emailed a few starting pics by my suspension tuning shop Center Gravity, so I thought I'd post them.

    Just as a reminder this is what I am having fitted:

    * Bilstein Damptronic kit (ClubSport version**)
    * GMG WC Sport sway bar set
    * GMG WC rear toe steer kit
    * GMG Dog bone kit

    ** NOTE: Cargraphic describe the Damptronic kit coming in normal or clubsport variants...

    * GA5-D598 Sportsuspension B16 damptronic, FA+RA 15-35mm CLUBSPORT
    * GA5-D581 Sportsuspension B16 damptronic, FA 25-35mm, RA 15-35mm

    HOWEVER now when you go to the  Bilstein site it says the D581's are for Carrera 4 and the Turbo you only have a choice of the D598 or the non-PASM PSS10 kit (GM5-D601).  So I guess everyone with 'Damptronic' kits are either running the Carrera 4 soft versions or the correct Turbo version (GA5-D598)

    Once all the kit is fitted Center Gravity will then perform the following:

    * Ride height check and adjust
    * Corner weight check and adjust
    * Geometry check and adjust
    * Test drive

    Going to start with a -20mm drop and middle stiffness settings on the front and rear sways.

    Also, as my rear Bridestones were nearly worn down (7500 miles) I thought I'd take the opportunity and get myself some Michelin PS2's also.

    More report to come hopefully each day this week. I will probably be collecting Thu or Fri.

    *****Spoiler Alert*****

    Re: REPORT: Suspension upgrades with Bilstein + GMG

    More tomorrow hopefully

    Re: REPORT: Suspension upgrades with Bilstein + GMG

    Interesting, my ride heights had obviously dropped since factory:

    Front: 134 (factory is 138)
    Rear: 140 (factory is 153)

    I am aiming for GT2 heights so:

    Front: 118 (drop of 16mm)
    Rear: 133 (drop of 7mm)

    So perhaps those speed bumps I fly over now won't be too big of a change...

    Re: REPORT: Suspension upgrades with Bilstein + GMG

    Looking good Alex, love those p40s!

    Re: REPORT: Suspension upgrades with Bilstein + GMG

    Alex,

    What a beautiful sight. Thanks for sharing.
    I would have NEVER guessed, as recently as a few months ago, I would one day look at these pictures of messy suspension components and actually enjoy and appreciate them. Those links look beautiful. Please post more pictures and cheers!

    Re: REPORT: Suspension upgrades with Bilstein + GMG

    Some interesting comparisons of old (OEM) vs new in this next set of pics...

    Re: REPORT: Suspension upgrades with Bilstein + GMG

    Everything is apparently on now apart from the front two wheels.

    Center Gravity will do all the corner weighting and alignments by end of today, and then we can test drive tomorrow.

    Also, my new Michelin PS2's will be coming tomorrow so I can directly compare worn Bridgestone's vs new Michelin's, before and after.

    Can't wait

    Re: REPORT: Suspension upgrades with Bilstein + GMG

    Switching to thumbnails from now on as the full sized pics above look too messy and take up too much space...
