My 997.2S is finally with me
Whilst I've not yet had a real chance to really drive the car properly my first impressions are that this car is an amazing piece of engineering. The engine is just fantastic, it's low down grunt is superb and pulls very strongly all the way through the rev band.
PDK is fantastic, being a traditional manual driver, I've been converted (I never thought I'd say this). I've driven it in both D and M and I've got my head around the buttons and it comes pretty naturally now after only a day.
In normal, it's well impossible to feel the changes (both up and down), with Sport providing a small "bump" in the back when pressing on. Sport's Plus is just fantastic, I love the way it just goes into maximum attack mode.
In my opinion, Porsche has produced a car which really can be a pussycat to drive, yet give you the thrills you want out of a true sports car.
Gripes? I'm nitpicking really if I'm honest. There is certainly more tyre noise at higher speeds, it doesn't spoil the enjoyment though. That's it.
I actually prefer the feel from the front in corners, certainly if I compare it to my 996.
I know there's been some debate on the adaptive lights...I've had a drive just a short time ago, they do make a small noticeable difference. I quite like the asthetics if I'm honest.
Overall, this car just gives me a broad smile everytime I drive it and I think PDK is just awesome. It was quite nice to get a wave of appreciation today from a driver of a Gallardo :-)
I'll come back with more impressions once I've had more time with it (will be taking pictures tomorrow and will post them up).
