    997.2 Deals

Just ordered a new 997.2 last night from my dealer in the uk. I have been promised an early october build date and i should have the car mid to late october.

I did not get a discount on the new C2 but instead got a fantastic deal on the trade in of my Sept 06 C2 with 18k miles.

The spec on the new car (sorry don't have the codes) is:

Carrera 2 Gen 2 in Carrara White (been told this is the bright white and not the beige colour, anyone know any different)
    Black leather interior
    PDK
    Sport Chrono Pack
    PASM
    19" Turbo Wheels
    5mm Wheel Spacers
    Park Assist
    Heated Seats
    Sports Seats
    Crests on headrest
    Touchscreen Nav
    Ipod
    Bluetooth phone

Anyone have any pics of a white 997 Gen 2?

    Mark

    Re: 997.2 Deals

Very nice, I think the non mettalic colours are making a bit of a comeback. I have a Basalt Black C2 on a 56 plate at the moment, looks absolutely amazing when just been cleaned but gets dirty so quickly.

Did you get a good trade in value on your current car.

    Re: 997.2 Deals

didn't trade in, and this is my first Porsche, i have a metallic black car at the moment which ill use as a run about and there tricky to keep clean.. saying that i just bought some swissvax BOS and tried it out and it keeps the dirt of much better and its a lot easier to maintain, my FL will be under a cover though... ill post some pics when i get it..

    Re: 997.2 Deals

Congrats Mark. I am about to jump too, I think. The offer out of the blue last week is an early October build (surprise surprise) for a part ex which is well over the current trade value so its hard to refuse the overall deal. I'm thinking of solid colours too; white or red (its a change spec car) with black XRR. My dilemma is to PDK or not. Seems you get your money back on the RV for PDK if you do it through PFS. Have to say red car above looks stunning. Anyone esle apart from Mex driven a -20mm PASM chassis yet?

    Re: 997.2 Deals

    John

Sounds like we have had the same telephone conversation with our dealers.

Never driven a -20mm PASM car but i was a bit concerned over ruining the ride quality, also my car won't be going on a track. I do like the look of the -20mm cars mind, look a little more aggresive.

I guess with all these things it is a question of when do you stop!

    Re: 997.2 Deals

hi guys, which dealership are you dealing with? I was offered only Pounds30,000 for my 2005 C2 997 as a part ex which i thought was about 7 grand too little!

    Re: 997.2 Deals

    Hi All,

Newbie to this group so hello all.

I'm due to get my 997.2 early next week. I got no discount (although I did try my hardest!) I too got a bigger trade-in on my M3.

Mines arrived early, nearly a month early to be precise. I ordered July and it got delivered to my dealer (Bournemouth) yesterday.

    Spec

    C2S Basalt Black
PDK / PDK MF Wheel (Heated)
    Black Sports seats (Heated)
    B. Black Carrera Sport wheels
    Sports Chrono +
    Sat Nav
    Voice
    Bose
    Adaptive Lights
    Coloured headlight washers
    Silver Belts
Parking and the good old wiper!

    Re: 997.2 Deals

great news....mine should be on its way to the UK now....so expecting early Oct...they say 12 working days for them to get it? how long from factory end date to getting it in the UK was it for you?

    Re: 997.2 Deals

Make sure everyone posts pics when they come in...

    Re: 997.2 Deals

Guys isn't it quite scary that you can order a997 gen 2 and get it within 2 months I have a bad feeling that Porsche are flooding the market again and this will have an adverse effect on the resale value of these cars why can't they just reduce product hence resale value will be strong.

    Re: 997.2 Deals

Congrats Clewsey. Super spec and looks great with the black XRR wheels.

Italo I reckon that it would be almost impossible to get out of the facelift I was offered for sensible second hand price when the facelift GT3 comes even though I was offered about GBP6K more than my year old C2S is worth to do it for a October change spec build.

Over time if you keep them over 2 years it doesnt look so bad but I have to say that the days of changing in 18 months I reckon are gone.

I do wonder if I made the right choice to say no to a new car but I cant see there being much more than GBP5K difference between the facelift and old model like for like in a years time can you?

    Re: 997.2 Deals

Congrats guys on your orders and imminent deliveries

    Re: 997.2 Deals

From factory end build to dealer takes a approx 2 weeks, nearer 2 weeks. My original delivery was supposed to be mid Oct.

I traded my M3 in today, got 20k for it (3.5 yrs old) so could have been worse I guess.

I saw my new car in the flesh today, allbeit during the preparation part. I'll be picking up on Friday next week so will get the pictures out for all once I've collected it

It takes the dealer 1 week to do a PPI in the UK?

    Re: 997.2 Deals

Congrats guys - some nice specs - I'm surprised more don't take te -20mm SPASM with LSD - maybe it was just me that thought this was the best value option on the list!!!

    Re: 997.2 Deals

got 6% off my C4 order... November build and now just counting the days!

took the -20mm SPASM and LSD is standard on the C4... will post pictures as soon as i can

    Re: 997.2 Deals

I could have it earlier but I've bought the car from a non-local dealer so have to wait :-)

Interesting thoughts ( i am having the same). I have been in my FL C2S for almost 2 months now. I have an LOI in for a GT3/RS but knowing the shafting i will probably get on the trade in i might walk away... I must be the only bloke wanting the GT3 to be delayed

    Re: 997.2 Deals

It's amazing how persistant OPC's have become. I was offered Pounds5K more for my car today to trade to new 997.5

I figure they'll go better than that before the end of Sept...... :-)

Nice to see UK OPC's having to bend over the desk and bite the pencil for a change ! It has been us guys for at least the last 10 years !!!

    Re: 997.2 Deals

The new S PDK is absolutely fantastic in every way; and every enthusiast that drives it with me, is blown away by the performance and the perfection of the new PDK gearbox.
I enjoy every moment I spend with the new Carrera S PDK !
I find it hard to believe this Black/ Black one is on a vessel; and available.......

    Re: 997.2 Deals

If you could buy that spec for that price in the UK, then the R8 & GT-R would have no chance. Sadly, Porsche is now priced out of the market in Europe. You 'mercans have no idea how lucky you are!!!

Congrats & I hope you enjoy it!!

This is probably only the case for US/European markets. Here in the Middle East, I ordered my car in July 08, and they have promised Feb/Mar 09 delivery!! Anyway, your fears seem unfounded as Porsche as a manufacturer may not be able to flood any of its worldwide markets. It could be prioritising its major markets and sending most of its production there. Whatever the case, I would be happy if my dealer told me that my car will arrive in 2 months instead of 9!

    Re: 997.2 Deals

You would, until you tried to sell it 18 months on. It used to be in the UK that you had similar waiting list times so people would buy nearly new at close to list. This supported residuals. But as PAG became greedy, existing customers suffered. Now with the state of the markets, folks are staying away and there is a glut of 997 & 997TTs out there. Most of the indys don't want to be left with a rapidly depreciating TT so won't buy at all. The OPCs are now feeling the pain.

Having just renewed my warranty, I'll stick with my 997 for another year in the hopes residuals don't fall too much further. I may return to the market in 2010.....
