    7. (final)

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

Great find Kashmir. That is just about the final version shape wise.

I look at it and have no positive emotions, in fact the size and lean on that turn make me think BUICK.

1 Question......will this be required on US highways?

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

Good heavens, that profile and rear..... so UGLY

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

    oh dear oh dear. !!

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

We saw that rear spoiler before. In a patent document

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

My thoughts exactly Enzo! This is the spoiler that stretches out sideways, in order to be wider than it is in retracted shape.

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

i am reeeeeeeeeally worried about the back ...

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

These mules still appear to have too much camo. The profile sent to owners by PCNA is sleeker. See it HERE.

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

First time that rear side windows are not tinted !!

How I see actual roof/rr.side window line

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

Although the final general shape as shown above is correct, there is still too much camo strategically placed distorting the real shape and the proportions.

We have to wait for our final judgement.

Nevertheles, PAG want to find 20,000 buyers annually, so not everybody has to like the car, never mind buy the car.

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

Misha011- For the first time you have managed to cast some doubt with me. I downloaded the picture of the green car and enlarged it. To my surprise the interior part of the car is shorter than the rear window (your circle to the left)which does suggest that there is something beneath. However it could be just the angle. Can other step in ?

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

If you are right about the actual roof line showing beneath the camo, and you may well be, this is quite exciting. I have been worried about the poor roof line tapering toward the rear, and this gives me some new confidence...

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

oooooh looks a lot better, im excited!

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

P.S. Sorry I have no 'photoshop'

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

the front is alright but the rear has ruined everything

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

Misha011 - We know what the shape will look like (from Porsche's microsite and from the pamphlets that they send out to some).
I think what in question here is the level of "bulkiness" of the roof line.
I must say that although you did spark some seeds of doubt, I'm still not convinced that there is anything beneath the current roof line.

Sorry, wishful thinking. You WILL be disappointed.

And it is the rear most road users will be seeing more often

There is still some camo on the sides behind the rear doors (bumper and above). However, the shape will not change that radically.

However, the detailing is very important and the play of light on the panels changes the look of any car. Both are missing from the mules.

On a different note, I was reading the critique of the new Ferrari California on the rennteam Ferrari Board. Same moaning about how the rear spoils the car and how everybody would design the car if he was given the job. It seems that every car user these days has a designer inside him waiting to come out and every enthusiast is a frustrated car stylist.
I am sure, however, that both the Ferrari california and the Panamera will sell like hotcakes.

    Re: (Photo Update) Panamera

I think we have the final roof line.
And I also think this car will sell well. The shape of the back is a bit goofy, but it will not stop sedan owners who want a car with a sportier character then their 7 series or S series to change for this car. It will the be the new ' must have' sedan car. Like it was with the Cayenne ( people did find it ugly but it sold very well )

Except that at the time the cayenne appeared in showroom, there was no competition out there. Yes you had the BMW x5 and ML, but there were outcast by far by the cayenne.

Here, it's a different story. You've got the maserai, the soon to be aston matin rapid, not to mention a simple Bmw M5, or a cls 63 amg.

I, as a german buyer wouldn't go near an italian or a british car especially in the 4 door class, that by definition will be used more as an everyday, cover long distances car. So for me and many others the real alternatives to the Panamera come from germany. Sure some will prefer the M5s and the A7s and the AMGs (all very worthy and competent) but enough will have the Panamera on their wish list.

The italians and certain british might score some extra points in the "supercar, limited use,show-off" category but not when the use is in the real world where substance is required.

    Agreed.

Given that the rear spoiler fits flush with the hatch when not deployed, i think we can assume that this is the final shape. Unless the spoiler is a very elaborate bit of camo..

But it is all in the details. So guess we'll have to reserve judgement until we see the finished article.
