Concerning the short shifter, it's a must I think. About the PASM sport, I can't compare it to the regular 10 mm PASM in normal mode unfortunately as indeed, I only had the non-PASM chassis on my old 997C2.
However the ride is still comfortable even if stiffer than what I was used to. Also, it is absolutely fantastic to drive the car in sport mode on mountain roads like in my region. As far as I am concerned, the chassis is, together with the new engine which brings me some additional power and torque, the major improvement on the 997FL. I was used to have the front wheels floating a bit when driving fast in small turning mountains roads. But the new 997 front wheels are now with an extreme precision and the car is literally "on rails".
