This model has been around for well over a year. I think it's just a new color scheme. These are great track cars, but have no lights nor other street-legal requirements (hence the reason they are hundreds of pounds lighter than Elise/Exige)

In production now they really only have one platform which is used for the Elise S, Elise R, Elise SC, Exige S and 2-Eleven. Chassis, rear sub-frame, tooling, is common across all models (2-Eleven chassis is slightly different though). Lotus have really maximised the original Elise platform with minimum investment to achieve such a large number of derivatives. Most/all differences are simply bolt-ons.
The second platform will be the Evora (very few common parts with the Elise) and the third is the Esprit (which I hope we see). The Esprit in theory will be based upon the Evora chassis with different drivetrain, suspension etc.
The Europa is of course the exception which is nearing its end of live and is produced in very very limited numbers. It does take up its own production line however. So the sooner that goes the better.

Nice track weapon 
I watch one of the streetlegal 2-Elevens quite often at NoS (I saw the driver loosing the car a couple of weeks ago in the wet at Ex-Mühle
, fortunately with only minor damage - though still taped).
Would love to drive it myself and compare it with the X-Bow
