    new brother for the GTS

the Carrera 4S was dropped off today and replaced with an RS 60 spyder. the blacked out version. nice drive home and the sky's stayed clear for the drive.

Re: new brother for the GTS

another shot - the sport exhaust is really nice when you get used to feathering the peddle a bit.

Re: new brother for the GTS

i drove a boxster for a week - this engine is really smooth - the Boxster had 500km when they lent it to me, this one had .6 km when i bought it and the mechanic put on 20km during prep etc - the 5 speed was smoother shifting but i think it was just more used.

Re: new brother for the GTS

i really like the pipes on the Spyder

Re: new brother for the GTS

Congrats! Nice pair of Porsche to cover all weather of driving.

BTW you've been switching cars quite often this year. Did you get approval from your wife? How many new handbags did she buy??

Re: new brother for the GTS

    tim - good eye.

i got them by her when i said each of the new was cheaper than the old one. i had to do some number magic to make that reasonably accurate, but the "it is cheaper than the old one" was a real breaker of ice.

Re: new brother for the GTS

Congrats with the spyder, nicely complimenting your collection ! I haven't much experience with porsche sport cars however is the spyder not the little brother from the 911 (still same enjoyment???)

    best regards,

    Mark

it is the little brother but it certainly isn't a lessor Porsche. i think there is a lot of " i bought a Boxster because it was cheaper than a 911" but that is unwarranted if you bought the car for driving vs posing. Coming from a 911 it does have less straight line grunt, but the cornering and steering are amazing. it has 85% of the HP of a Carrera S cab but also has 85% of the weight. So, when cornering, steering and braking you really notice this difference.

with the sport exhuast on it has a great sounding wail.

    Enjoy !!!!!!!

Re: new brother for the GTS

How did you mount front plate?

Is there a stock mount that you can buy or did you custom fabricate something?

Re: new brother for the GTS

    Hi CPA4S,

would u please take a close up photo of your GTS front air intake. I would like to order the same one in HK. Thanks.

Re: new brother for the GTS

kevin - it is just the aluminum look Porsche front grill set. what i did though was put thin black pin striping on the leading edge of all the horizontal line. it softened the look of the grill and really works with the blacked out GTS.

i will try on some more shots.

Re: new brother for the GTS

Congrats - that's a nice stable of cars Hope you enjoy in good health

Re: new brother for the GTS

cool car-port drive thru, how about some wider shots of the house, I am into architecture/design.

Re: new brother for the GTS

it is a take off of a Frank Loyd Wright. the original is outside Clevland

the carport is the greatest. it can snow like mad or be cold as you know, and the carport is as good as the garage. doesn't melt the salt and so in that sense is like keeping it outside in winter so much better for the metal. best of all, i can see the cars anytime from INSIDE the house!

Re: new brother for the GTS

Can I ask why you traded your 08 Cayenne Turbo for a GTS? Have the Turbo and love it (my third) so interested on why you did it.

the GTS was much more fun to drive for me. the power range is more usable without getting to speeds where they impound the car. the manual transmission is more engaging; i don't get much city traffic so the ease of tip not required. the sound of the GTS was amazing. the new sport seats were more comfortable.

bottom line, my dealer lent me a GTS for 8 or 9 days and i had more fun in that time then 6 months in the CTT.

Re: new brother for the GTS

Do you have PDCC in the GTS? If not, do you miss it? Also, Plans for winter tires??

Re: new brother for the GTS

no pdcc - it was on the lot and ordering was tough call. i liked the pdcc and if i ordered i would get it. most of the time you don't miss pdcc, but it was a pretty cool option.

i have the 18inch turbo's with snows. they came with my CTT. they were great on the CTT last winter, which was a winter not seen in many years.
