Emperor, I tend to disagree with you. Allthough there is still quite some cammo on the cars we see on the pictures, the silhoutte seems to be uncovered. All I can see is camo on the front bumper and the rear light unit. I can't quite see whether there still is some on the panel behind the front wheel. The rear bumper seems to be quite uncovered.
Also, Porsche has a history of slowly peeling of the layers of camo, releasing information bit by bit. I think what we see now is one of the final stages.
    -Joost-

Look closely at the rear. Fake panels are covering the tips of the tail light and all the way down the sides of the rear bumper. Yes the silhouette is real but it's distorted by the fake outline of the green house. Once the last camo is pealed of the the green house gets a chrome list around it the car will look more coupe-ish and sleek.

Either way there's is barely 5 months left before the car is unveiled so I'll leave it like that.

    Re: New Panamera shots

It's proportions, reginos wheel arch in comparison to the body, how far the nose sticks out, and subtle curves vs. ruler straight slab sides.

Which would you prefer, the mules as is or this drawing car? They are not the same.

Emperor - I see the panel on the rear lights, but there should be a bulging crease right thru the gas tank and the very rear upper part should stick out another 5 inches.

Changge the proportions of your girl/wife/so just a little- a bigger nose, smaller eyes, larger ears, flat lips. Is she still the same, looks-wise?

    lets compare

The area in yellow is the mostly different compared to the spy photo.

The effect of the rear glass shape and the inward sloping lower end of the rear bumper is missing or camouflaged in the photo.

I think its even every line on this photoshop which is somehow curvy. The "real" car is flat and straight. Until now it looks just ugly, cant believe that the camo makes such a big difference.

    Re: New Panamera shots

Just with some minor removal of the camo and the 19 wheels and the car starts to look a little bit better don't you think? So we still need to wait for the real car to be able to judge it.

    Re: New Panamera shots

    No you're kidding yourself.

    Re: New Panamera shots

could someone explain me why they designed it with that buggy back ?

    Re: New Panamera shots

Since RC is the only person who knows for sure how the car will look like and appears to like it, I suggest that we waot until ALL of the camo comes off...

    Re: New Panamera shots

    ^^
True. Unveiling is just a few months away.

    Re: New Panamera shots

Look on the picture above. What I see is that the windows are to small compared to the height of the body / doors. This looks awkward!

    Re: New Panamera shots

im sticking to my original "hope" that this is just an ugly full body camo that porshce us using istead of the realy, good looking thing.

    no harm in dreaming...

    Re: New Panamera shots

In tomorrow's issue of German "auto motor und sport" there are some pics of the Panamera without any camouflage. Surely they are enhanced, but looking at them they could come really close to the final design.

    Re: New Panamera shots

Found one of the pics at the homepage of ams:

    Re: New Panamera shots

As I said before the front looks good but from the back doors toward the rear car and the rear view looks like an underdeveloped creature.

    Re: New Panamera shots

The pic Rossi posts is too optomistic on the front, the mule does not slope down nearly as much. The clear light coverings in the drawing are way too long.

The mules real problem as shown again in the warm weather video is; its way too long, it's too tall and the back is a mess from all angles. It's a cross-over.

    Porsche flubbed this royally.

Those pics of the blue car are old and are a bad photoshop. They were posted on here a long time ago and may even be buried in some of the early pages of this thread.

    Re: New Panamera shots

surely porsche will do their best but im really afraid of the rear. Even with the camo, the general outlines look awkward and undeveloped

    Re: Latest Panamera shots

sounds boring, looks worse in video than in pictures, a lowered cayenne. Should be a great bargain in used car market.

    Re: Latest Panamera shots

    Thanks Ron

I'm not sure it is 1 video ... I feel they have put together some bits and pieces ...

Do you think enough people will buy it so as to create a sizeable used car market?

    Re: Latest Panamera shots

I hope in reality that it looks much better than these spy shots but I have a real fear that it will be absolutely hideous.

I have a sinking feeling about the Panamera - that Porsche fans will have a really hard time accepting it to their hearts (a bit like the reaction to the Cayenne has been) whereas the actual target buyers will snap this car up by the bucket load. Why? Because those people may want to buy a luxury saloon/sedan and they may have been unable to buy a 911 since their family size doesn't permit it. Till now, their only choice for a Porsche 'family' car has been a Cayenne. Now they can buy a genuine 'family' saloon/sedan. For them, they just want to buy into the Porsche brand/badge and this solution works for their family size. We're talking about a different kind of buyer altogether. People who can afford to spend more than what it takes to get a S Class, 7 series etc. Saying that the Panamera's real rivals are cars like the Aston Martin Rapide etc is just too narrow.

I think this 'likely hideous' new car will represent a financially successful new development by Porsche (which will make Porsche think it has proven its doubters wrong) but it will feel to Porsche fans like us like one more tent peg driven through our hearts.

    Re: Latest Panamera shots

Hmm, the photos on World Car Fans isn't too bad. It appears that the rear is now completely visible and it isn't so bad!

    Re: Latest Panamera shots

Looks like another stage managed "spy shot video" released by Porsche. Cars caught parked unattended at the end of a closed off section of road with apparently no test engineers around to chase off the film taker ...... yeah right

    Re: Latest Panamera shots

You're 100% right, it looks to good to be true.

I believe this is part of the documentary Porsche is making to release after the car is launched.

    "The making of Panamera"

Are they doing it in the "Blair Witch" hand-held shaky camera style because the subject matter is so scary?
