From what I can see I believe the whole top pivotes 180 degrees along the axis (doesn't fold).
The roof as a whole turns outward and the break lights appear on top when opens up and they hid inside of cabin when closes.
I hope I made myself understood.
That's just my perception someone else may be able to elaberate more.

Very accurate description of how top works, Ron. However, concept car shown at PB had different appearance, esp. the point of rotation was hidden inside a structure appearing more like the vertical "wings" seen on a 360Spider. This may be a photoshopped pic...

No, the pic of the yellow 575 in your original post doesn't look like the concept car shown at PB. The circular axis of rotation structure was hidden inside the vertical "wings" that the concept car had.....best way to think of concept car is as 575 coupe with no rear windows (and no rear shelf) and instead with vertical 360Spider-like wings.....hope that description makes sense...

F seems to know design may be controversial for some buyers (esp the Viper-like curvature of rear window when top closed)....but my view of concept was that design is cool...

Those silver 'things' illustrate housings for the electro motors which flip the roof along 1 simple axis. It's a brilliant design from Leonardo Fioravanti, although initially he patented it for manual use - without electro engines.
Don't forget that Fioravanti designed the 365 GTB/4, 246 Dino and 308 during his time at Pininfarina!

I already spend far too much time on the net only with Rennteam, so imagine if I had to browse through other car sites as well!!!

Horrible.
How bad looking Ferrari cabriolets have become. Barchetta is a joke, Spider a tasteless compromise.
Since making a car handsome or awfull cost the same, I don not understand all that crap designs.
Bring back a Spider California, it would be so easy given the Maranello.
