Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Looks like a big piece of chocolate, or worse... not my style. But to each his own.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

I've never seen a brown car that didn't look like a conservative volvo driven by a sweater vest.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

    Not for me!!

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

My FL on order is macadamia with cocoa interior! And I resent being called a Volvo driving vest wearer :-)

I was initial set on the Basalt Black, but after thinking long and hard about it I wanted a colour that would discreetly stand out. GF initially suggested it and when I thought about it it was a great idea. You don't see many brown cars anymore and I fancied being at the fore-front of retro trend setting :-) What better way to make that statement than with a brown Porsche! I'll post pics when its delivered in Nov.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

..and it will look very elegant.
Personally, I would have gone for a sand beige interior.(just provides more contrast)

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

this is the colour I would consider (as well as white) when I get my 997.2 ..... eventually.

it does look better in person than photo. not as brown.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Youtube video of above shown colour.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

That color on a '76 Eldorado convertible with a tan top??? NOW you're talkin'!!!

All kidding aside, it'll look rich and pleasant when clean, but metallic brown sure looks sad when it's dingy... Even black stands out as more attractive when dirty...

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Looks like espresso coffee...should sell well to the Starbuck's crowd

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

I'm telling you, brown is the new black! Besides, it makes it less attractive to thieves......

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

My bet is you have to see it in person before judging (I haven't seen it yet).

Besides, Porsche needs some warmer colors in it's color chart. Most all of them are cold; e.g. silver or atlas gray.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

That's a car that has to always be clean- will not look good dirty. Brown is personally not my thing, but it is different and interesting. Never seen one in person, could be cool.

shabab 1978 check this - opening scene of 1971 film 'Le Mans' , Steve McQueen in a brown 911 !

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

    Beautiful pictures

I like the car very much in that color !

    The FL looks so nice

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

FWIW, here's some older versions of "brown."

Just thought I'd mention, because of the color, I would not be blissfully excited about buying if they were for sale.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Here's 'nother. Repeating myself again again: kind of a non-preferred color in my mind if the car were for sale.

Maybe, but in a world full of silver Porsches a 911 in Macadamia makes a refreshing change.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

I think it looks rich and classy, the round of pictures Misha posted won me over.... It's like Atlas's distant cousin..

But the other comment was correct... Silver hides dirt, black shows dirt, but brown BECOMES dirt when it's dirty... Even a bit dusty, you'd lose the pretty picture.

But all shine'd up and posed like those photos, I find it to be a wonderful change of pace...

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Steve McQueen's 911 in the movie Le Mans was grey. I believe it was a non-metallic 'slate' grey.

You know what? As long as the interior stays sensible (i.e. probably black?) I guess the Mac would have some lasting classic good looks.

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

Good choice for UPS delivery on Rodeo Drive or WPB

Seriously, that is avery attractive photo!

Boooooooooo...... Substitute "sensible" for "boring" ... I love tan or the cocoa idea...

I can't remember ever SEEING a brown car with a black interior, of any make or country of origin... I don't think it works whatsoever from a compatibility standpoint... Like wearing black shoes with brown pants, you'll be panned on Entertainment Tonight by that Ko-Jo dude...

Re: Facelift in Macadamia - classy!

i would see macadamia on turbo

    Original Brown

Was "Togo Brown" named for a little known country in West Africa right next door to Ghana.

ridleyguy you are right and thanks to you I found this article http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=126937 and 'you tube' video clip of first 7 min. of the film which I have't seen since '71. Thank you . (911 looks a bit 'brownish' as you said 'slate' grey)
