Plus he looks like a shrimp beside it.

    Re: New Panamera shots

    Its a fake.

    Re: New Panamera shots

Of course it is a fake.

At least Jester Clarkson didn't dare put this picture on the UK edition.

    Re: New Panamera shots

I can't believe they would actually publish this in a magazine.

It's worse than fake, although I've lost faith in Porsche design for a while now but I know for a fact there IS NO WAY in hell they would design something like this.

    Re: New Panamera shots

You can clearly see that this is a photoshop. Check the C-Pillar Window!

    Re: New Panamera shots

    looks like a dodge neon

    Re: New Panamera shots

Come on you guys - don't you see Porsche's strategy? With overall sales declining, they are obviously going to do something that takes initial sales of the Panam through the roof.... they will release the dreaded special edition immediately as part of the model introduction - witness the Panamera RS

    Re: New Panamera shots

Well, honestly, it's Russian and you can't trust those guys.

Re the important stuff, I think it is becoming glaringly obvious that Porsche has misdesigned the Panamera. It is far too big and far too heavy. Porsche has always had a design philodophy around being compact, light, excellent visibility and superior usability. The Panamera is as big as an S class and almost demands a driver to allow you to sit in the back. It SHOULD be at a maximum, M5/E63 size, although a little large than an RS4 would be even better, weigh 1650 kgs maximum, have low capacity, free revving V8s (not the lumps from the Cayenne), have no straight lines on the body, have a transaxle layout (ala 928, and Maserati (I know, not the autos)) and have an expensive solution for 4wd like the Nissan GTR with a carbon fiber prop shaft back to the front axle.

It does not. It may have made sense being designed 4 yrs ago, it no longer does. Pull it and releae the right vehicle.

As I said before, it isn't Russian; it is Bulgarian. And I know these guys in Top Gear Bulgaria, so finally it appeared, that this is complete Photoshop done by their designers and has nothing to do with the real thing.
One of the guys even said, that this is very bad attempt from them
    So relax, friends...

You just described the 4-door Porsche I want. With my son growing older the back seat of my 968 is becoming too small for him and I really want a 4-dr Porsche that I can drive everyday. The Panamera will be the best of its class no doubt but I don't fancy a car of that class/type. With rumour of Cayenne downsizing, there may still be hope.

That matches their drawing and Yes, that would be awesome. But the mule's roofline, height and shape, does not square with this pic.

Nice shot, where did you find it?

    Caymans1 posted it.

    Re: New Panamera shots

Impossible to look like that!!! Just look at the size of those doors! there is no way a real person can enter that car. And then the door cuts are way too complicated for production... so

    Barbie could...

    Re: New Panamera shots

Ok I will be buying one for sure if that is what it looks like!

    Re: New Panamera shots

Love the car from this angle. Once the true green house is exposed with a chrome sill and the full shape of the tail lights unveiled, the car will look very sleek.

    Re: New Panamera shots

    lets compare

    Re: New Panamera shots

    Aaaahhhhhh Nope,

the wheels and wheel arches have to grow on the mule, the lower ass end has to disappear, the doors have to be taller and windows smaller with the same roof line. Curves and creases need to contoured into the body.

Essentially 2 different vehicles, one stunning, the other a bloated parade float.

and it needs to grow a nose.

    Re: New Panamera shots

Yup, still looks like a floating potato to me... a shapeless blob it is!

Nose will appear once the fake plates obscuring the LEDs and the front bumper disappear. On the sides of the rear bumper there will be contours giving it a more sleek appearance and the same applies to when the tail lights are uncovered. They will have highly similar graphic as the ones on the 911.

Although the illustration is a bit exaggerated the final product will be of the same aesthetic caliber once all the last details are uncovered.

This is all how it works when developing a car with a new body style and exciting looks, you have to cover it up properly. Just look at what Mercedes are doing with the SLC, covering it up like it's one of Michael Jackson's children. The uglier the test mule is, the more dramatic will the unveiling of the real car be. It's about deliberately making ugly like Porsche did with the frog-eye tail light graphic and the fake green house outline making the rear end look very heavy and shapeless. It's all done strategically on purpose.

    Couldn't agree more.

    It's sad, but true.

    Re: New Panamera shots

Emperor, I tend to disagree with you. Allthough there is still quite some cammo on the cars we see on the pictures, the silhoutte seems to be uncovered. All I can see is camo on the front bumper and the rear light unit. I can't quite see whether there still is some on the panel behind the front wheel. The rear bumper seems to be quite uncovered.
Also, Porsche has a history of slowly peeling of the layers of camo, releasing information bit by bit. I think what we see now is one of the final stages.

The area in yellow is the mostly different compared to the spy photo.

The effect of the rear glass shape and the inward sloping lower end of the rear bumper is missing or camouflaged in the photo.
