    F430 Steering wheel

    Got a glimpse of the steering wheel, sorry no pics but looks very cool.
    It's flat on the top, but no rev lights like the Enzo, and it's got an engine start/stop button on the left and on the right, a dial you can rotate to control the electronic limited diff.
    New F1 gearbox called "Impulse" gearbox.

    My friend who works for Ferrari France. Sorry, don't have the pictures. But official pics to be released very soon, we were on holiday so he didn't have the exact date but he told me end of the month or early September, basically one month before the Paris Auto show he told me.
    She looks like a Modena on Steroids, very aggressive, superb! And yes, 490 hp for 1390 kg but you guys knew that.
    The center console however won't be to anyone's liking.

    Don't know about adjustable suspension, but will ask.
    Center console looks space age, with big air vents, Enzo and 612 style. I like it.

    Francois, was it carbon or alloy trim (centre console as well as dashboard) and was the rev counter red or yellow?

    really? Don't tell me Sonke , you know what I mean. Last week I spoke with a friend and I can get an early December (2004) delivery or an April (2005) delivery but unfortunatly no money for the moment!

    Sorry Rossi don't know, I only saw a pic of the steering wheel alone, and a quick flash of the interior. From what I remember, the rev counter is yellow or I am mistaking with the Stradale?

    Carlos - maybe they do that so that it can work with their electronic stability program (like BMW M3). The added benefit is that the Ferrari version can adjust the amount of locking too (like in center diff in Subaru STi). If Porsche did that too, then they could offer more than 25% locking rate and still work with PSM (but I like the idea of an uncomplicated mechanical diff...)

    But does it need to have more than two settings? ON and OFF (open)?

    I see, you are probably right Grant. Just hope it works as well as a mechanical one, so far I don't know of any electronic type diff's that do.

    There are lots of times where it would be helpful to adjust the locking rate (wet, tight track, drag strip, etc.). Changing the rate also affects the amount of understeer in slow corners...
