Porsche will put the  apparent carbon hood at around the middle of September . I don't mind this at all . Nice to have two hoods . Might put the green one on the wall or make a table with it indecision   carbon steering wheel deco is also missing . No date for the moment as of when it will be retrofitted . Could be a long time .

PPF and then CC is worth it, imo, Nik & Gnil..

Out for a drive on our sunny Sunday here and the flies on the front end just wiped off, you didn’t have to rub them off. Without the CC on top of the PPF the crap on the body would be much harder to remove. I do however remove dead bugs straight away after a drive, those dudes eat all sorts of acidic crap indecision.

So, it’s PPF for protection against stone chips and the CC for protecting against bird crap, tree sap and all the other general fall out. Also, the CC makes drying the car a absolute breeze, your lint free cloth will just glide over the body work.blush.

Wow, after reading the above I am popping up to my bathroom to check if I still have chest hair no indecision..

Does having a CC coating impact the resale value of th car at all I wonder? Thoughts?

I think it may, but I wouldn't expect anything more than a fraction of the original cost.  Same with PPF, but if it prevents chipped paint or repainting, then it improves the resale indirectly...

I would say, NO, nothing , not one cent . Even PPF will probably not make any difference are resale . I sold my former RS myself , had no PPF , quite a lot of stone chips, and it did not change anything in the resale price . Customers where not worried about it one bit . Maybe if the car had only a few thousands miles I makes a difference , but once the car is over 10k miles ,  buyers find it normal to have stone chips . At least that was my experience when selling

Thanks to all for your compliments on my new car

Congratulations on your gorgeous green lizard, Gnil. Smiley The painted air vents look very nice with the green stitching around them!  I also think it is so cool that you guys get the roll cage like that from the factory (this is so dumb over here in the US...).

Regarding the hood, I think the car looks more complete and cohesive with the green hood, plus it allows the visible carbon on the roof to really stand out. Personally, I think I would keep the carbon hood in the box for later...

Now it is time to share plenty of that new car feeling with Mrs. Gnil and go have fun! Smiley

By the way, did your RS come with these Lizard Green Valve Stem Caps? I wish they would come in red for my car as well.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Those LG valve stems would look great especially with if you ordered the LG wheel trim. I had similar valve stems on my Ferrari years ago and they last two days. All four were stolen. surprise

Nevertheless, I probably will order a set for my car if they are not provided.

I always get the leather air vents surround with painted grils . This time Porsche allowed to choose the color ( with 991.1 you had to get exterior color )  I heisted to take red or even yellow to give it a touch of spark, but finally took black to keep to already busy with a lot of green inside a bit more calm . Wanted the green seat delete but that got refused .

I agree that the black rood , bonnet , wing is not the best with green . It suits best black , crayon , red .  I did not want a black RS , and the WP option came in also later in my order .  Green hood looks more composed , fully agree . But to have the green hood , I would need a green wing , and have only the carbon roof,  otherwise it looks also a bit decomposed  Smiley

No, the RS does not come with LG valve stem caps . Those are an Porsche aftermarke techipment   option .

I will get the green center lock caps

That will look great!  One word of advice - leave them at home when you go to the track (had one pop off last time).  Also, you can easily check that the center locking mechanism has popped out (correctly) when track driving, without the cap blocking the view.
