today i drive around 250 kms,all fine the car runs good...there are less “noise” coming from the gearbox respect the .1,noise that was not so bad...but this is.For the rest i’m again under 5k rpm,so not much to tell...

 

 

I am disappointed that they took most of these mechanical noises out . I LOVED them !  But apparently some people thought it sounds not normal, unfinished etc... Probably the people who garage queen their cars 

Indeed its ironic, its the RS, the closer it sounds inside to a track car the better IMO, and it was one of the things that separated it from the other models.

the car is a huuuuge jump away from the mk1,and I make only 40kms.

the exhaust sounds better,seems more open,when you change gear it pops,and I was under 5k rpm.

@ Super Darius  - Congratulations . The immediate sensation of the .2 is always dominated by the engine. However, the defining characteristic of the .1 for me was the handling - so precise and intuitive. I would be very interested in your impressions on the .2 vs .1 handling once you have had a chance to spend more time in it.

Buy yourself a satin black touch up stick. I dabbed a little chip in on mine. Black is east to touch in....

Did not have one sone chip , but about 80, all over the front and even on the back fenders around the air intakes  . Most of them very small , and a few bigger .

When I sold the car ( I did it myself ) , I had none of the people who came to see it complain about the stone chips  when I showed them . They all said : No problem I understand , it is normal on a 2nd hand car .  

What seemed to be more important to them , were the disks and pads 

So no, no PPF for me . Thought a lot about it . Repainting if needed is actually cheaper .

Just some minor damages caused by clumsy tire guy.

Kobalt, its strange that you and Gnil have no chips on your rims..You 2 have super human reaction time ...My .1 had a few on the platinum wheel finish and I do not track. Guys were often asking for the plat paint code to touch in here in the UK..Weird...

I don’t get it..easier to wash? If the car needs a wash, it’s washed. It’s the same process whether you have CC or not. I think you guys are deluded yourselves as to whether it’s easier. 

Being adventurous can be risky but routine is lethal.

I drove a GT4 for a few days that had CC . It makes the car look much more shiny . At first I thought it looked great , just like out of a show room , but after a while the extra shine bothered me . It was on a guard red car .

It makes the car easier to clean as bugs or dirt don't attach as strongly as without , but , yes, you still need to clean .

For the people who PPF their cars + add CC , is it really worth it ? I presume you do it to keep your car looking like new for the day you sell it ?  If so, PPF will cost about 5k $ then CC  if many layers adds 3k $ .  For 8k you can repaint your whole car .

PPF and then CC is worth it, imo, Nik & Gnil..

Out for a drive on our sunny Sunday here and the flies on the front end just wiped off, you didn’t have to rub them off. Without the CC on top of the PPF the crap on the body would be much harder to remove. I do however remove dead bugs straight away after a drive, those dudes eat all sorts of acidic crap .

So, it’s PPF for protection against stone chips and the CC for protecting against bird crap, tree sap and all the other general fall out. Also, the CC makes drying the car a absolute breeze, your lint free cloth will just glide over the body work..

Wow, after reading the above I am popping up to my bathroom to check if I still have chest hair  ..

It could be a point . But then, as stone chips did not matter when I sold the car , made no difference whats so even on price or deal done or not , one can just leave the car and enjoy it without  a condom covering it . I prefer natural

On the light colors cars if you put PPF you always will have the dirty areas on the ends of the tape.

Porsche sells an excellent bug remover. Wash your car regularly, add a coat of wax/polish periodically and your car paint will look like new. I have PPF my cars a couple of times and never has it made a difference in price when I sold it.

Without PPF in Denver (particularly when visiting tracks often) would leave your paint in terrible shape.  We have lots of gravel and stones on the roads here.  Even if never involved in an accident, a repainted car here would reduce the value tremendously (not saying this makes sense, but reality...)
