Anyway I have always been a massive fan of the original M coupe breadvan. Anyone here has one? Should I get this one? It is immaculate!!!

I would get it. This car is so amazing, from the drive point of fiew and also from the looks.

I test drove one back in those days, but I finally stayed with the the E36 M3 Cab. Only because of the fact thats its a 2 seater. But if 2 seater isnt an issue und you already have a cab in your garage (?), go for it!

BTW. the seats look in a very "new" condition.

Personally I always hated the looks, I do like the new one though. They are great cars however. Looks very clean and well taken care of.

u wont loose too much money getting rid of it later anyway.
and its a beast of a car!
never seen one with full leathr dash.

the problem now is u need more car spaces!!

well, u can always consider buying the rest of the units and have the whole floor (and car spaces) to yourself!!

i know (from my audiophile friends) some dude decked out the whole floor at your place. its mid-level, not penthouse.

arr.. i can imagine its so big I can play tennis in doors, and 360 degrees of limitless views..

anyway, I also have a blue M-Coupe at my carpark. some P-plater drives it. some rich kid with stupid parents!

My friend is selling it to get a M3 CSL. Knowing him he will refurbished that too! haha. The reason why he spent so much money on it in the first place was because he thought he would keep this car forever. Now the M3 takes his fancy so I will just buy that from him again once he is done with it and spend tens on thousands on it lol.

Even at mid-level, whole floor (fitted out) will cost about $10m. No thanks. Not that I can afford it.

Yup. New one is improved. I'd get one if I _needed_ the extra room in back. If not..., I'd move on.

Actually Way, my buddy's been looking into buying a Z3 coupe for a while now.

Keep in mind this car is based on the e36 platform... and your M3 made in 1999 will have the 3.2L S52. There's a BIG difference with the later S54 engine taken from the e46!!

That being said, i think it's a great car in MINT condition.. but it's not worth $55,000

Try to make a lower offer and see if they bite

Cars are much more expensive in Australia so it's hard for you to compare prices to Canada. We only have cars here that uses S52 engine. Doesn't bother me anyway as I have much faster cars and this one is just for a bit of a collection.

I had one too in Imola red, I just sold it simply because I wasnt really using my Ferrari enough and the MC is easier to jump in and out of. It is a fantastic car, definitely a real drivers car. You just need to add a strut brace to sharpen up the turn in and maybe go for some uprated suspension. Mine also had a whalen quick shift system and a stainless sports exhaust. Great car, I would recommend highly.

A driver's car in the old fashioned sense, which can't be bad. I also see it as a defining car for BMW, although when it was new it wasn't considered as desirable as an M3, perhaps because it sits on the previous generation chassis .

However, are you sacrificing any other car to get it? If you are buying as additional go ahead (especially as it looks immaculate from the posted photos).If not what is all depends on the trade-off?

Actually, I would not get it...but that is personal experience - wife and I have owned our 2002 M Coupe from new (is wife's DD), and it will be moving on in favour of a 2009 Cayman S sometime next year. It is a fun and unique sports car (you will get more attention than in any Porsche), ours has the S54 engine so great power and engine flexibility, but let down by too little suspension refinement. And a serious number of these cars are developing sub-frame cracks that take major effort to repair.

So, perhaps as a very occasional car or one that you want to modify (lots of good parts to do that with). Small size may also have advantages in city use. Hope that helps

Thanks 4trac. We don't get the S54 version in Australia, so this is as good as I will get. The current owner has already done the sub-frame mod, and have a set of bilstein shocks on it. And yes, it will be a very occasional car. I will be lucky to drive it once every couple of weeks.
