Re: Too Much Time in the Garage
I don't get to drive much, these days either. But unless the money becomes an issue, selling it never entered my mind. The parallel question is, do you think a Ferrari owner worries, "Gee I am not driving mine enough"? Heck no. And you'll find many 5 year old Ferraris with 5,000 or less miles on them.
I'm not too far behind you either--I took delivery of my 06 Club Coupe on 10/29/05 and it has 3500 miles, has never seen rain, and since I don't drive it to work it sits on a Porsche battery maintainer ready to roll when I am. I got a yellow labrador retriever in January, and I feel bad leaving her home for hours on the weekends, and taking her along is out of the question (her car manners are really bad, and she'd be in my lap causing all sorts of mischief). So there's not as much time to drive the car as I would like. Just change your oil and filter once per year, keep it on a battery maintainer and when you do drive, go out for long drives so you get it nice and hot. I typically drive for 50 miles or so when I do go out for an outing.
Personally, I wouldn't want a Cayenne for the fuel economy--I know you're paying more than we do in the states, but at over $4 per gallon, I don't want a vehicle that is getting in the teens, just to tool back and forth to work. Geez when I get a loaner from my Porsche dealer, it usually is a Cayenne, and the gas bill for one day's use is enough to convince me I don't want one (or any SUV) unless I need it for the sheer size.
