    thanks for the vid. interesting to see towards the end how the ZR1 reaches 175mph at the top of 5th gear in the last straight and then stays there barely accelerating in 6th gear for several seconds, slower than what I expected but handling looks very good for a vette.

    You did well until the end... Handling is very good (I would say excellent) for any car. Period.

    Quite amazing.The handling is good,It can be 1 or 2 seconds faster if the drive had made no mistakes.

    I've heard that GTR outran the GT2 on willow springs on the test of Road & track.

    I saw that video. Once they said they don't care at all about 'Ring times, I tuned out. What's the point of listening to someone who doesn't even care.

    The car looks incredibly planted (especially in direct comparison with the GT-R)

    Question is how fast the car actually could go with a driver who would hold the steering wheel with both hands at Schwedenkreuz

    Hold on! Are you not aware that these videos are bogus? It is impossible for any car not German made able to do the Ring in less than 7.30. Thus, these video times are nothing more than figments of GM and Nissan imaginations.

    The GT-R did not loose any time at Döttinger Höhe or Schwedenkreuz when it comes to top speed. Highly unlikely to achieve this with 140hp less, higher drag and drivetrain losses. However I am surprised about the car's aggressive turn-in, surprising to say the least if one considers the standard tire configuration and significant amount of weight over the front axle.

    Watching that video, the ZR1 surely has some more potential for another record lap. My bet: 7:23 min.

    Here we go again...Nissan used a ringer,right?

    I suggest you take some Sport Auto tests and look at the times of the last sector and top speed at the Döttinger Höhe.

    Some cars are simply better than others. That's it.

    Thanks for your hindsight, but what exactly are you trying to tell me? I was not debating about numbers, just about the fact that the Nissan appears very, very strong especially at turn-in and acceleration. From previous comparisons one can figure out that the GT-R looses in acceleration at high velocity, e.g. against the 997 Turbo. However it equals the times of the ZR1 on the straights?

    Just take a very good look at the times of the last sector in the Sport Auto tests.

    You'll see that a GT3 was as fast as the Z06 on the straight. The M3 was 4km/h slower than the Z06. The R8 was 12km/h slower than the M3. The GT2 was as fast as the 599GTB and LP640.

    American cars are rubbish, give me a good old fashioned Triumph or Opel. Hehehehehehe...Now if GMAC can save itself from extinction, and give us a proper interior, we may have a winner.

    ...I assume you mean GM? GMAC would be the financial branch no longer majority-owned by GM.

    At any rate, I think the ZR1 is quite cool, but that's just me I'm a Corvette fanboy.
