    Acceleration question: Cayenne S <-> Touareg V10 ?

    Does anyone know which car is faster, the Touareg v10 or the Cayenne S from 0-100 Km/h and 0-200 Km/h.

    And the brakes? 200-0 Km/h and 100-0 Km/h?

    What are the differences? chassis, brakes...

    What car is more agressive, more handy, more sporty???

    I would like to hear your opinions??

    EHHHEH! it's always an autobahn fight !
    in my opinion the Cayenne S is a little bit fster than touareg in acceleration and in max speed . when my car was 2000 km, a Touareg v10 killed me in autobahn from 160 to 220 (my engine was new and that diesel has an incredible torque) ...but now my cayenne s (10000) km "win" .....(or i met only sunday's drivers) .
    now the Cayenne has the acceleraton of the bmw 330 d (or 330 ci) and more max speed.

    braking .....mmmm ,the braking is not good ,but remember that the truck weights like a real truck .....maybe air brakes ? in 10000 km my brake pads are 3/4 finished .
    I need more performance pads .....does them exist? (ferodo ,pagid ,texart??)

    Up to 180 kph the Touareg pulls fairly strong and 0-100 kph is better than the S in most reviews. The engine shows a significant lag - it could be sorted out by now though.

    The engine weights quite a lot and from what I've heard the V10's torque exceeded the chassis' rigidity - therefore it had to be inforced and curb weight increased - also on the Cayenne...

    The Touareg V10D is rather slow above 180-190 km/h. I have experienced this twice, a BMW 530d is quicker.

    However, below that speed level I do not know.

    I can confirm that. And the Touareg has a pretty bad acceleration lag from standstill. But after getting some speed, it is really fast up to 180 kph, at least as fast as a Cayenne S. No kidding.

    Well, chassis and suspension is similiar to the Cayenne, as you might know. The Touareg V10 outperformed the BMW 740d on the Oschersleben-track, if I recall correctly.

    A V10 diesel-engine up front will never be as agile as a much lighter gasoline-V8. The lag in acceleration just enhances that feeling.

    No clue about the brakes but I can't recall any major flaw there. You should check on www.autobild.de since they did the above mentioned comparison with the Bimmer and the G-wagon!
