    And here are mine! finally...

    As most of Rennteam's users said, the 997 S with 20mm sport suspension really is a great car. Being a 996TT driver, I've of course missed some power and torque, but all in all, this car more than fullfilled my expectations. Yes, there are a few glitches on the cosmetic and user-friendliness side, but it's a real pleasure to drive.

    That being said, I can't wait for the 997 Turbo! Mr. Porsche, please please make it extra-powerful, give it an even more superb chassis, a smaller & thicker steering-wheel, optional bucket seats, package it with a real aggressive look, and you'll have my order in no time... (by the time it comes out, my Turbo will probably have over 250'000km...)

    Congrats!!! very nice pictures

    Does the front bumper have two holes (as in 996) for the Lic. Plate or they have some kind of clips to hang the plate?

    I completely forgot about the adaptive (or whatever it's called) steering during my drive. But when this came to mind again after the drive, I understood why it sometimes felt a bit awkward. I sometimes had the impression that the car didn't do exactly what I expected, but since it was rainy and mostly on small uneven roads, I thought it was because of me, the wet asphalt and/or the road itself. So one probably first has to get used to it before being able to drive the car hard.

    Oh, and going from my 34cm thick steering-wheel to that big thin wheel felt strange too. Why can't Porsche design a sporty steering-wheel?... (Didn't like the plastic silver 'buttons' on the wheel either)

    I specifically looked for a thicker wheel when I first saw th option list but its not smaller, though this one is a bit smaller than the 996's.
    BTW, what about the seat support? since you have the race buckets yourself on your turbo.

    Yes, the 997 wheel is slightly smaller in diameter than the 996 version. What 'shocked' me was how thin it is compared to my Techart one. Taking the 'thicker wheel' option would be a no-brainer, but all in all, I think Techart & co will sell a lot of smaller, thicker and better looking steering wheels for the 997.

    Seat support? Boy, the 997 seats are exceptional! (my test-car had the ones RC described in his report) I'm pretty tall (189cm), but seating position was just perfect. The seats are tall enough, and the head support is tilted forward a little bit, which makes it very close the the head, and thus improves safety quite a bit. Lateral support is great too for a normal seat (and can be adjusted), much better than both the 996 comfort and sports seats. I of course was glad to drop into my buckets again, but for road driving and occasional track-days, the new seats should be perfect. But hey, how about a 997S with rollbar/cage and bucket seats?... Well, I guess that's gonna be called 997 GT3!
