Why did you choose 619 over the 666 Telephone module?
With 666 you can insert a separate card or have bluetooth connection to phones that support SAP (SIM access profile) and in this way the module reads all the details on your phone card.
With 619 you connect to phones with only HFP (hands free profile) and the system works as hands free device only.
    Check it out!

    Re: My facelifted C2S

Many thanks for the advice as the configurator does not give too much details about these options. But it is like 619 is just what I need.

OK I wrote about this because I researched it myself before ordering. This what I found from the Press Information" for anyone who might be interested:
    "Telephone module with Bluetooth(R) interface
The optionally available internal GSM telephone module offers superior control comfort and
optimum voice quality. The system comes with two operating modes, enabling the user, first,
to make telephone calls with the SIM card placed in the phone and, second, to automatically
interconnect a compatible SAP-based mobile phone (SIM access profile) and the telephone
module via a Bluetooth(R) connection. In this case the aerial on the mobile phone is switched
off only when using an SAP mobile phone, with only the external aerial on the car being used
    for phone calls.
Depending on the mobile phone the driver or passenger is using, this allows not only access
to the SIM card data, but also to telephone numbers in the internal memory. And with the
telephone being operated via PCM, the multifunction steering wheel or optional voice con -
trol, the user is able to leave his mobile phone conveniently in his pocket.
After the mobile phone and PCM have been connected just once, the PCM communication
unit will recognise the appropriately configured mobile phone whenever the user gets into
the car again, automatically connecting PCM Porsche Communication Management with the
phone itself. This function is available for up to five different mobile phones, thus distingui -
shing from one user to the other.
The telephone module is the best solution in technical terms for customers with a GSM
Bluetooth mobile phone. To offer customers with a GSM or CDMA mobile phone supporting
only the Handsfree Profile (HFP) a comfortable Bluetooth solution as well, the system may
be prepared for use of a mobile phone as an alternative to the regular telephone module.
In this case, when establishing a connection via the Handsfree Profile, PCM serves only as
a handsfree communication unit for the mobile phone."

    Thanks for the info

    Re: My facelifted C2S

bah! Is the Swiss configurator updated already??? The UK one still has the pre-facelift car and options only!

    Come on Porsche UK!!!!

Nice spec by the way, Congrats!

    Re: My facelifted C2S

    Great Nico !!

My dealer has sent the order for my car this morning
I have signed and will get the first client car.

The configurator works partially. My dealer could not have acces to the 3D yet, but it should be sorted out today and everything else worked well.

    Re: My facelifted C2S

i checked on the switz internet site and that is still using old config.

Fantastic ! I suspect we will receive our cars more or less at the same time and that the IT guy visiting Lausanne today will be in Geneva tomorrow.

BTW, it is the configurator at the dealer we are talking about, not the one on Porsche's web site.

    Re: My facelifted C2S

wouldnt mind a play with one even though ive specced my car

    Re: My facelifted C2S

your spec. sheet gave a very good idea of what kind of driver you are, and what you're looking for... I would wait till January 09 for the X51 power package... that's the only thing missing... and you're gonna want it I'm sure...

    Re: My facelifted C2S

Very nice - we couldn't spec the tailoring leather options in the Uk with the first cars....

I thought TPMS was standard since MY2007? Not for the FL cars?

In the US yes, but here there is no law saying that all new cars have to have it, so P keeps it over here as an option and makes a few more $

    Re: My facelifted C2S

Nico, why dont you take PDK? I think this will be the most important update to that car!

    Re: My facelifted C2S

    Sounds great, Nico!

How about the PCCB, or did I miss that?

    Re: My facelifted C2S

Yes, what about PCCB ? I had them on my order, but took them off... I could not bare the price, but I still am battling with it. Is it worth the price ? it would bring the C2S in Gt3 territory regarding the price

    Re: My facelifted C2S

Indeed. Having PCCB and PDK would bring the price of my car to the level of a 997TT.

Re. PDK not in my list, I am simply not old enough

    Re: My facelifted C2S

I agree PCCB makes any non TT into the price league above. It only seems to make sense on a GT / TT to me where price is no longer an issue as you are buying at the top of the class.

    Re: My facelifted C2S

i will get the first client car in Germany PZ. Yesterday i got the confirmation. But now delivery date is July/August 2008. I guess the first car will be produced in the beginning of July. So delivery date will be 2-3 Weeks later.

    Re: My facelifted C2S

Is the allocation per country high and does anyone know if there is a waiting list this will determine the residual value

BTW? I got steel rotors on my TT. Thought I was making a big mistake (I wanted to have the reliability of a spare tire and didn't want to keep throwing the cash away on my selfish indulgences ). Gotta tell ya, I'm only on public roads and I drive like a nut case (when nobody's around) and the steel units are _quite_ impressive. Never regretted not having PCCBs. I don't get all the hype over having them for public roadway use. Wet conditions can make them hazardous, right? FWIW

Totally false. Don't believe the hype about a problem with wet conditions and PCCBs. Only after you wash your car do you have an issue with the water on the rotors,--after the first application of your brakes it's done. In seriously rainy conditions the PCCBs perform as well or better than the iron rotors. I've driven through some significant rainfall with much water on the roadway and NEVER had an issue with the PCCBs.

    Re: My facelifted C2S

    Dan,

German AMS tested two 997s some time ago. One with standard brakes, other with PCCB. Test was very extensive country road use, track use, wet road use and all measurements.

PCCBs were better at track use, marginally better at country road use and not so good at wet road use. PCCBs had slower reaction time then standard brakes. They measured it and they claim that sometimes you can even feel it...

Also standrad brakes were easier to modulate at low street driving speed then PCCBs.

    Gnil,

It's definitely worth it!! No regrets - and no, I don't work for Porsche! If necessary, I would eliminate other options and opt for the PCCB.

    Re: My facelifted C2S

Car has arrived, delivery next week.
