DaveGordon:Jeez - this thing lists at basically the same price as a GT3 RS in Switzerland
269k CHF base price.
Far more exciting and exotic than the GT3 RS
Maybe good that you did not get an RS allocation Now you can get this beauty instead

Question is: How hard (or not) is it to get the 600LT? Is it limited?

He told me I could reserve one. Mind you Porsche told me I could have an RS, too
He said they were not VIP-only, and were limited only to a short production run - no fixed number. "But be quick".
Might be worth a 570S test drive to refresh my memory

I wonder about the cost of ownership though (including depreciation and running costs)?
Most Mac models pretty bad on depreciation, but last LT did well...
And those Akebono brakes could be pricey to maintain.

yeah on the long-term definitely more expensive than a GT3RS (maintenance, depreciation, etc), but then again this car is in a different league though, so awesome value for what you get, and will put even more pressure on other makers too... win-win!

the LT model are more protected against the depreciation rock style of the McLaren line up.
I can't stop watching at this car , it is really nice and for sure the delivered package will be faster than most if not all GT cars from PAG . If it would have been NA, I would have put deposit, I just can't be interested to turbo cars.

The 570 styling is already a big improvement over the 650/675, not as nice as the 720 but good enough.
The 600LT is too attractive a package to pass up hence I ordered one.
It is like a good 60-70k CAD cheaper than a equivalent Performante, but still like a 100k CAD more than a comparable GT3RS.

It is surely faster than all current Porsche road cars, save the 2RS. If Porsche goes entirely away from NA after next model year as rumored, then McLaren's position is even more competitive...

DaveGordon:Reserved one. Exciting!
Does it have Akebono brakes? I thought just the P1 had those.
What does "reserved one" mean? You have an allocation? Or they promised you one? Or you're on the list? Do they give build date parameters?
Being adventurous can be risky but routine is lethal.

Congrats, Dave! I assumed it had Akebono brakes, but I could be wrong. What does 720S use?

Thanks! No clue. Need to find some info. Guy said it launches officially on the 12th so we will see full specs and pricing then. Right now all I have is a place in the queue, so we’ll see if the pricing works out for me. Dealer saw it live at Estoril last week so might go and drill him for impressions tomorrow.

bluelines:McLaren Zürich are dying to sell one to Dave. He was there at least 42 times to test drive their cars
Hiarious. Great move to reserve one, though. Apart from engine performance, I´d be curious how it rates against the GT3 RS as this would be the only competitor I could come up directly.
Any reason why they chose the 570 as the base car, is there another LT coming out based on the 720?
Whoopsy:Yes there will be another LT from the 720 series.
I have pretty much settle down on the range 500-600HP though, plenty fast enough.
At a weight figure under 1300 kg, the 600LT will be a rocket. Also, we all know that McLaren underrates their power claims.

Popped in and had a chat earlier. Sounds like a pretty serious car. The salesman was confident that it is a full-on track optimised car, not compromised to be playful/fun in the same way the 570S is. So likey to be a lot quicker on track. Brakes from the 720 are Brembo. The standard level of equipment is high: full alcantara, carbon buckets, light forged wheels. Proper support for a 6-point harness. The fancy Senna seats are a 7k option. The exterior carbon bling is all optional, standard would be the gunmetal painted finish as on the normal car. There’s also a clubsport pack, but didn’t see what was in that. Rear spoiler has a ceramic coated centre section so it doesn’t catch fire
Dealer saw it at the track last week, said it was LOUD, sounded amazing.

All you ever wanted to know about the 600LT...
Quoted weight is based on no aircon, satnav or audio system.. sneaky.. All no-cost options to restore. Think I read no carpet? crikey.
Slightly worrying is that it looks like the harness support only comes as part of the pro clubsport pack, which includes a carbon roof and other bits. Sounds expensive.

weight will be more like 1380kg according to Mclaren Zürich and compared to the 675lt (advertised and real weight)
But i think under or around 1400kg with around 600-630hp is still ok for this sport series lt
