    How much are they charging extra for PDK + Sport Chrono compared to the Tip ?


    WOW!! I just noticed LSD with an auto-box

    I think I'll go the same route if I decide to get S instead of CTTS

    And btw the floor mat should be free, damn them!!

    I bet that they'd charge you for a tissue box too if it had a porsche logo/script on it

    PDK and Chrono prices consistent with previous/tip - and indeed floor mats should be free!

    As a shareholder, no to floor mats. BTW I got my floor mats for free, probably because I am a shareholder.

    My German dealer heard something about 8% price increase
    My delivery date has fixed today on July 11

    As others have said, lots of stuff i cannot get as my car is an early build slot.

    Dealer called....

    Can't have seat ventilation with sport seats. Need to also spec the electric option for the seats.

    Holy Moly... .8% is a lot. There should be also some "extras" included for!

    According to a post from a UK member who has specced an S model the price increase is GBP1.600, around 2.5%. So the 8% cannot be true, unless it is for the 3.6 that gets equipment that was optional before, like bi-xenon lights.

    are you able to wait till january and add an X51 power kit to your list??? should take your car up to 410 bhp, which coupled with the PDK, should move to or beyond today's GT3 territory

    Might want to get a few PDE events under your belt before you do anything serious on the road...

    I fully intend to! Plus my current car is quite powerful so I'm getting used to controlling the power delivery ....etc. Btw a big thanks to all contributors on these forum pages - lots of useful info and feedback. Makes the whole buying process a lot less daunting.

    Wow...a 997 after 7 months of having a licence - good on you but (without sounding old) please be careful - at least you have the C4S!!!

    Good luck planning a spec, its very much fun if a little stressful!

    Well technically I've had my licence for 2.5 years, but only a car for 7 months.

    The specc'ing is going to be interesting - cos of my lack of no claims I'm gonna have to keep it under Pounds80k basically. Even then my insurance is going to be about Pounds3.5k

    And yes, I chose the C4S for the 4wd plus for the wider rear profile. Altho I'm fully aware that 4wd won't save me from very bad driving!

    i didn't know that Pounds80k was a 'cut-off' point for insurers. Who are you looking at? I found that bell were quite good when i bought my car. Previously had only been insured on my parents cars so when i got my cayman s only had 2 years no claims. Went for the bonus accelerator option of buying insurance for 10 months at a time. Seems to have worked so far and also means that i won't get hit for all expenses in one go each year (insurance, road tax, servicing, mot etc..)

    insurance came in at around Pounds1.4k which isn't too bad considering lack of experience / no claims / being parked on street in central london and business mileage etc..

    Not crazy at all. If he drives it safely, why not? It's his money, his choice and we live in a free country. If he wants to buy a Porsche, good luck to him.

    Porsche have some of the best safety features on any production car - including brilliant brakes... He couldn't buy a safer car surely?!
