We must whait and see the car "in real".
It's true anyway that I'm very very disappointed whith those pictures.
Who said the DB9, 911TT and Bentley GTC looked bad on the side of the California ?
Looking at the front pic, I see a Fiat Barchetta !

It is not that the car doesn't look good. But, I find the detailing fussy and busy and if you take out the cavallino and the front grille, it has no Ferrari identity. It could be any model from any mainstream manufacturer trying to impress.
I like the name though. It relates to Ferrari history (250 California of the 50s and 60s) and alludes to the target market for this car.
They might bring a limited edition for Nick too "La Jolla California"

actually I think some of the details are wrong (grille, too busy side creases), but the proportion is dead on. I think with the top up, it would look aggressive.
I m not happy with how it's turned out, I expected more amv8 stance but on the bright side, I think this could be the first CC to have two real different identities. With the top down it looks feminine, I think with the top up it would look very masculine.
Merc SL and SLK do not look too different with the top up or down.
Now where are the pics with the top up??

I will reserve final judgement until seeing it in real. Pics look so-so, front is nice, back is busy, red is not the color for this car.
Anyway, the rear seats look so tiny, I don't even think a child could fit in. Might have to keep the 612 or get a 612M
Specs look impressive for the quoted weight/hp. Would like to have 0-200 or 1000m numbers though.
Bottom line: it will look much better in real and sell like hotcakes...

Commercially it is a very clever move from Ferrari. It will enter a new segment with this car that will include wives and girlfriends and poseurs. I am sure many affluent californian women will switch to this car from their AMG SL55s and the Beckhams (remember him the ex-footballer?) will get one of the first out of the production line. And maybe Paris Hilton will order a Ferrari too!

The bright side is that F430 successor can become more hardcore and sporty.

Still haven't made my mind up on this yet, I need to see the front from a human beings point of view (I hate these pictures from low down, I mean how many people upon seeing a car fall onto their stomachs to get a good look?!) also need to see it with the roof up. I do like the front and side though, but not sure about the gap for the license plate at the back.

So very true but it's not this forum only. People (carlovers) have a certain perception or/and identify themselves with a brand and when the identification is not met by a new model there is major disappointment and they start crying/complaining. However, after a few months they get used to the new design language and bit by bit they start to like the new design. Has been like this for ever. Remember the 901 (911) launch ? Porsche had lost it BIG TIME back then and they would be going under with the car according to the naysayers of the day. Same with this car.
I really like it a lot and think it will be stunning in reality. I have one on order (already for years) and am second at my dealer. However, do not know if I am going to take delivery. It is supposed to be a 2+2 but I fail to see a +2 configuration in the pictures. I need back seats for my son.
