Got a call from my dealer this morning....
I need to spec my FL C2S by Monday I am top of their list and getting a July build slot.
The news on some of the interesting extras is as folows:-
X51 will be available about 2 month after initial launch and cost Pounds9.4k It wil lift power by about 30bhp... I can't have this as my car will be built before available
Sports exhaust is available, but again after launch... i will get this retro fitted...
I will be able to give more details tomorrow as i am going in to spec my car....

I'm curious about the change in price.
Is there any information to suggest a larger than average price increase? (That is, more than 3-5%)

I hear less - 2.5% increase
Could be worse in the US, due to the weak dollar...
I doubt it. PAG knows the dollar-euro correction will soon correct.

I never fancied the 996 at all but the facelifted 996 C4S is one of my favorite 911s, it's a stunner thanks to the turbo from bumper and the lights strip. I hope it looks just as good on the MkII997.
I think you'll be disappointed. On the 993s and 996s the red strip sat nicely on a horizontal bumper line and tied in to the red taillights. On the 997, the bumper line isn't straight and the strip doesn't tie out the red portions of the taillights--just a somewhat arbitrary point about halfway up the cluster. The red strip appears to be as useless and tacky as the shields on Ferrari fenders.

I think porsche AG had bought some obligations wich gave them the right to a certain euro/dollar rate for a long period of time, no matter what.
I had read something about that.
I don't know when it will end though.

Probably. But as it stands I guess it'd be cheaper for a European to order a car in the US & ship it. I don't think Porsche will want that to happen.

Yes, I agree.
I specced my FL 997 last week for a July build. Several people seem to be worried about being far down the list for the FL car, but given the over supply with the MK1 997 i can't see it being an issue. I placed my deposit at the end of Jan and was told last week when i specced the car i was top of the list.
Doubt i will buy this car on credit as i was burnt on the last one although it was a Cayenne !!!
