    Yep, I'm gonna do a bit of real racing at the N'ring. We'll do a few VLN races in order to qualif(l)y for next year's 24h race. Our race-car is a prepared Honda Integra. All details here: www.nring-team.ch (sorry, this one is only in french...)

    I'll post some news here after the race, but please be patient: I'll finally take a week off, and (amazingly) my laptop will stay home!

    OK, we will give you the week afterwards off, but when you get back we expect a full report of the race to share with us a bit of how was the experience of participating (and of all tracks at the ring!)

    and if you end up qualifying for the big ring 24hr race for next year, RC should change your forum title to "Rennteam ringmeister"

    Hey, what's your starting number?

    Take a look at www.nurburgring.de

    Maybe they post a picture of your car - shouldn't be a problem.

    Good luck and lots of fun! Can't be in the Eifel this weekend. Too bad...

    i'm so jealous, planning a trip next april.

    apparently its niegh-impossible to find a prestige rental company that will allow you to use their car on the track.

    I don't want to start something weird here but as far as I know, since during tourist driving the Nürburgring is officially a toll-road and therefore insurance coveres driving on this track. Should you have a crash because you were to fast I don't think they will cover the damage!

    Anyways, any regular car rental has some pretty decent cars. You should check in advance!

    hi pierre!

    did you drive the 24 h?
    my dad was there too - he got a cockpit 5 days before the race.

    very "funny" race for him:
    he drove 3 laps in the car on friday afternoon in an "old-men-team" (he is 60).
    at the end of the session a piston burnt - the problem was, that the team had no piston at the track because the engine had 0 km ("revision" before the race).
    several pistons were found by phoning around with everybody they knew - but none at the track (they had the only 04 GT3 RS-engine).

    so on saturday morning 2 pistons were delivered - but they didn't match!
    at 17:50 they had installed a 01 piston which had no compression at that cylindre and the engine only got about 390 instead of 470 hp.

    but it ran!
    so they started 1:45 late and were last for several hours.
    the next incident was, that one of the drivers got ill in the car and drove a stint with laps of 16 - 20 min.
    after his stint they brought him to hospital.
    all very funny.

    in the rain my dad lappes himself back against the teammate, which was 11th in the end.

    he drove the second best lap times of the team,but he was very disappointed in the end.
    being 83th, knowing you had the same speed like the car who was 11th in the end is not that funny.

    but finally, he took the race as a unique experience.

    Hi Wolfgang,

    No, we're planning to attend next year's 24h race. In order to qualify, we first have to attend a few VLN races, and our first one was on July 17th.

    This was our first race ever with this car, and two of us didn't even have any track experience with it... So we considered this event as a big test. Despite a few technical problems, we managed to cross the finish line (150 cars at the start, 99 at the end, and we got 92nd), which was one of our main goals. The other one was to have fun, and we had loads of it!

    Our team's next races this year will be on Sept 11th and 25th. If you happen to be around, don't hesitate to visit us! (Honda Integra # 274)
