    Hi Alex,

    Typo line 17? *998* GT3 RS.

BTW, that GT3 Cargraphic 465 RSC 4.0 has impressive numbers! 100-200 time is faster than the Turbo. Does anyone happen to know what the mod is? 4 liter engine?

This is the 4.0 litre kit - 40,000 Euro and the car is extensively lightened at a DIN weight ~1400kg. It should be fast for that $$$$$

    Re: Performance Table

Alex, some more new Sport Auto data:

    Koenigsegg CCX (800hp): 29.9s
    SLR 722 (650hp): 29.6s
    LP640 (640hp): 31.5s
    997GT2 (530hp): 36.2s
    Alpina B6S (530hp): 41.5s
    Corvette Z06 (512hp): 44.6hp

this is an interesting one - looks like Porsche were "doing a CGT" by quoting 33s ?

    Re: Performance Table

    Toby,

the times appear to be slow for a few of the cars. Perhaps the conditions were rather poor? I don't have access to the magazine

Fine weather. They did 0-100 kph in 3,7 s and 0-200 kph in 11,1 s with the GT2.

Do they have any comments on the GT2's lardy time in the text ?

No comment. There's nothing wrong with that time IMO, the acceleration-curve looks smooth all the way up to 300 kph. And it's still 4,5 seconds faster to 300 than a 997 Turbo.

    Re: Performance Table

Many thanks for posting the graph

Very impressive numbers, although I think it is pretty unwise to have attempted this with stock internals . on the other hand it makes me feel better that the engine can handle such strain:!

    Re: Performance Table

I think we should add a channel on the graph for rod bolt stretch....

    I am confused...

The 0-100 time is exactly what Porsche quote, and the 0-200 time is 0.1s under what Porsche quote.

So I don't think there would be anything wrong with the 0-300 time.

Is the rear wing adjustable with the new GT2? I know that it was with the old one and this might perhaps explain the slower top-end (aerodynamics) .

Nothing "wrong" with the time just a bit slower than the 33s which Porsche quoted to SA.
I think unlike 0-100kph and 0-200kph getting all the way to 300kph magnifies the variables, specifically the road surface which presumably in this case was not as smooth as the test track which Porsche used (same main excuse used for the CGT)
BTW Alex - A few of us are testing 0-300kph at Bruntingthorpe this Saturday morning, you are welcome to join us -PM me if interested

    Re: Performance Table

Toby - as already replied to Felix... I would love to come but I am almost certainly working in Germany next weekend. Please let me know when next you plan on meeting and I definitely will try and make it. Out of interest, have you sold your CGT yet or are you taking it along with you?

    Re: Performance Table

Table UPDATED with GT2 info and Switzer 997.

    Re: Performance Table

Sorry, didn't realise Felix had been in touch....
CGT is apparently sold (was on consignement) but the guy has not collected/paid yet.....

    Re: Performance Table

Autozeitung tested the 997 Turbo Cabrio against the new SL63 AMG and M6 Cabrio. Pretty good performance from the Turbo:
    Weight: 1670 kg
    0-60 km/h: 1,6 s (OMG)
    0-100 km/h: 3,7 s
    0-160 km/h: 8,0 s
    0-200 km/h: 12,2 s

    Re: Performance Table

So about Porsche's official figures for the Turbo Coupe Tip. No surprises there then.

    Re: Performance Table

Just worthy of a mention, the CG624 1490kg car which did 0-250kph in 16s then took a further 12.2s to reach 300kph totalling 28.2s appears to be wearing a full GT2 body (with an ever deeper front spoiler ? )
Now we have the REAL time for the 997GT2 of 36.Xs I think it validates even more why the CG624 car is not faster over 250kph, the GT2 aerodynamics create the downforce but obviously really slow the acceleration over 250kph.

I would love to see a stock 997tt with the 624 kit, it is believable that it would get it the mid to low 20s 0-300kph with its Cd 0.29 body ?

    Re: Performance Table

    Very interesting, thanks Toby

So does that mean Cargraphic are now doing a GT2 type bodykit?!

I think you're right. RC has said so several times already and it would seem that he was correct . The 624 does seem like a very good buy, with Rt12-like performance.

    Re: Performance Table

Dumb question: Is the RT12 a 997 Carrera 3.8 engine (consumer grade) that they convert to 650bhp, or does it start with a 3.6 Turbo engine (professional grade)

ie. what's the base car before Ruf modify it?

I know guys like Rami have had the 650 kit applied to their 997 Turbo's but I was wondering specifically about the RT12.

I guess the RSC conversions will include the GT2-style bodykit given these pics:

    CG site

    Man that looks hot!!!

    Re: Performance Table

...although, now I notice that it does actually say GT2 on the back of the 2nd pic

The Rt12 engine is based on the 996 turbo engine Alex. Same for my car btw, it's a complete engine swap.
