so that means that the Panamera will be launched at the Bejing show in April next year!!

Panamera Geneva (or Bejing) spring 2009.....for sales later that year.
Wasn't that the original time line?
And how did we jump from spring 2008 to spring 2009.

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

I wouldn't be surprised if not only Porsche but other manufacturers introduce their concepts and new comers in China from now on.

At this point of time China and India are the most vital markets for any car maker in particular Porsche, Ferrari and all others.

U.S. doesn't seem to be as vital as it used to be. However, if they're smart enough the auto makers should do some hedging ($ is the lowest ever) like Porsche did long time.

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

Had a call from my dealer yesterday to tell me that they had just come from an update meeting with PAG. It seems that the message they were given is that the facelift will be on the ordering system from July 5th, with brochures available from end of June.

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

The FL was supposed to be shown or at least announced in Beijing! No word of it yet! Only a Cayenne turbo S was announced. What is happening? Are there so many unsold 997s at dealerships?

Re: New pics of 911 Facelift...

    aaargh! No news from Beijing!!!
I was wrong ahi ahi ahi....
what is happening at Porsche? What are they waiting for???

To sell the last pre-FL 997 with as little discount as possible.

    Hold it back!

Frankly holding it back is not a bad move. The more they can sell of the "old" car at full price and clear inventory the better the resale values will be. Reducing the number of cars they're building will also help. So if they don't launch until the Fall that's maybe no bad thing.

From what I gather, the first 2wd customer cars will be available after the factory summer holidays, that is as from 09/2008. The FL will be officially announced probably end of May with orders as from end of June beginning of July. However, if a sales brochure leaks on the internet the announcement could be brought forward.

    Re: Hold it back!

Check out the size of those mirrors...wow.

    Re: Hold it back!

    another

    Re: Hold it back!

    last one

    Re: Hold it back!

I'm not digg'n it, but I understand the new mirrors are required to comply with safety regulations. I believe the facelift styling is rather minor. More significantly power and economy gains should offset any styling miscues. Makes you think though that Porsche should have done more than an additional 30 horsepower in light of the new Nissan GT-R. However, the GT-R will hardly become a factor as their rather limited production will hardly put a dent into Porsche sales.

    Re: Hold it back!

The mirrors look like the kid in your class who had huge ears that stood out from his head. Remember him? You couldn't help but feel compelled to flick them suddenly from behind! My school was like a jungle

    Re: Hold it back!

Any link to these "EU regulations"????

    Re: Hold it back!

Those side mirrors are seriously ugly and do no match the body of the car. If they come in international models outside of EU then I will seriously consider retrofitting the current ones....

    Mirrors

Actually, this EU regulation is in the spirit of the Prof. Porsche maxim that "form follows function". So we should all appreciate that and stop complaining.

    Re: Hold it back!

I'm sure we will all get use to these mirrors very soon

    Re: Hold it back!

in the last pic the 4S stripe covered? I know it will back for sure

    Re: Hold it back!

ooops....yes looks like a stripe might be coming....last pic of the cab looks like a car ready for delivery...

    you are right

    Re: Hold it back!

    Those mirrors don't bug me.

    Re: Hold it back!

Sure looks like it! (See picture)

    Re: Hold it back!

PS, porsche, if you are listening:
If the new C4S has a stripe, we want a picture like this, but then with all C4S-es!

    Side Mirrors

You can see the new side mirrors in detail here.
    Not an issue IMO.

    Re: Side Mirrors

    2.

    Re: Side Mirrors

Thanks, but I refer to a link of the regulation

    Somthing like this:

    "NORMATIVA 2005/27

    ANEXO I

DEFINICIONES Y DISPOSICIONES ADMINISTRATIVAS PARA LA HOMOLOGACIÓN CE

    1. DEFINICIONES
