So you don't like the Cayenne or Cayenne S, since it uses the Cayenne Turbo body? or the 996 C2 or C4, since it uses the GT3 body?
Maybe you shouldn't like the 996 Turbo since it uses the GT2 body, eh?
I know what you might say, but you get my point
I'm afraid I do not get your point.
Why did Porsche build a C4S? Better driving dynamics? More power? Better track capability? Nope. More money.
The Cayenne V6, S and Turbo all share the same body.
I don't understand your comparison.
The 996 C4 and the GT3 share the same body and you're right but you're actually already telling my point: why doesn't the GT3 have the C4S/Turbo/GT2 body?
The 996 Turbo needs the wider body because of the engine (remember...two intercoolers... ), same applies to the GT2.
Of course Porsche could have done a narrow-body Turbo/GT2 but it would have taken too many compromises and people also demand a slightly different look when they pay top money for the top models.
No, I didn't get your point but maybe you're willing to explain it to me again?
RC, you made it sound like you didn't like the C4S because it uses a turbo body, but isn't turbo. I was saying that the Turbo looks like a GT2 as well, but doesn't have the power of the GT2, so if you didn't like the C4S for that reason, then you shouldn't like the Turbo since it's not a GT2.
I was making the comparison to the Cayenne. The Cayenne S = Carrera 4S, and the Cayenne Turbo = the Carrera Turbo. Since the Cayenne S isn't a Turbo, but uses the same body, I would think you woldn't like the S.
Anyway, I can't afford a Tubo, but since I like the way it looks and is all wheel drive, I plan to get the C4S. I also like the wide body much much better than the narrow body C2's and GT3 (Yes, the GT3 should be a wide body). In many magazines such as The Robb Report, or other "cars for sale" magazines, you very rarely see a C4S for sale, yet you always see many many C2's and Turbo's for sale....
As far as C4S owners being "scared" of the Turbo...uh... Perhaps they just can't afford to get one. I sure would if I could afford one
