    "Supercup" steering wheel installed

Here it is, ordered via Porsche Motorsport here in Italy. If anyone is intrested tomorrow I will post the european part number (don't know if in the States will be the same).
It's 350mm and it comes with the hub and the quick release; I didn't mount the quick release because with that the steering wheel was too close to my body...

    Cheers
    Max T.

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

Looks great Max, now you just need a vacuum cleaner

    Re:Ruf RGT RS

Does anyone know when Ruf says based on the GT3 RS if that means that he uses the 964 block to build the engine?

I was looking at purchasing one and of course this is most important

    help

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

The Supercup wheel is also known as a Momo Mod07 and it is probably a lot cheaper if purchased through Momo. The only difference is that you don't get the Porsche horn button (although those can be found easily), and you don't get the red script on the right spoke.

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

Max ...you are out of cocumber !
    it's wonderful !
next step .... less weight !

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

    Hello MaxT

It looks great your wheel. Wat you make with the airbag system. I meen the control ligth comes on, when you change somme airbag parts?

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

the light can be disabled with the PST2/3

All GT2/3/TT use the old-style dry-sump motor which is based on the 964 block (with 964 part number), built in Germany. Just this year, new GT3's have a 996 block number which is built in Spain...

    Re:Ruf RGT RS

    I Loooove MOMO wheels...

unfortunately, all the ones i really like don't have airbags... for that matter, i dont think MOMO makes airbag wheels, (and even if they do they are probably ugly)

and thus, it is prohibitively costly (insurance will SPIKE) - and very dangerous i think (w/out a 6 point harness). (without airbag)...

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

you should use your vacuum cleaner....

    horrible...

    Re:Ruf RGT RS

    Hey Moogle,
I think they do make airbag steering wheels, but only for OEM purposes. Or perhaps the car maker has modified them. See Ferrari and Lotus.

    Re:Ruf RGT RS

actually the ferrari wheel is the MOMO driver wheel, (in the 360 modena)

except the MOMO driver wheel doesnt have an airbag while the ferrari one which looks identical, does... hmmph

Not to repeat myself, but although the wheel above is my favorite wheel overall, my favorite wheel with an airbag is the OEM wheel in the Mitsubishi Evolution. The wheel in the evo is also made by Momo. I haven't heard anything about aftermarket momo wheels with airbags, but they certainly should enter the market.

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

I hope that you don't drive with the 3 Point harnesses...

After a Crash with regular harness, I won't be you...

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

No, by the moment I installed this steering wheel I drive with the 6 point harness...

Do you have a beater car for daily use or is the GT3 your daily driver? I could imagine it'd be a pain in the #ss if you have to put it on & off at every gelateria...

Right, imagine the additional weight caused by the little stones, dirt, etc.....

BTW: does anybody really care about the missing airbag?
This is one reason I would NEVER get this steering wheel.
Maybe Max uses his helmet on the street too...?

    Re: "Supercup" steering wheel installed

like i said before RC, the MOMO wheels are beautiful and VERY aerodynamic, i WISH i could get one, the only reason i don't is that they don't have airbags

there is some crazy guy on PPBB.com who installed a non-airbag momo wheel and only uses his car's normal seat belt... very unsafe.
