    Performance Table

Given the metrics recently put together I think we need a summary of everyone's results.

Cars in grey are there for comparison.

I am sure I missing data, and that the data for Eclou's and Rami's cars will surely be better as the engines run in etc.

    Ruf 0-160 and 0-200 numbers misplaced .

    Re: Performance Table

RC's own test results on the Ruf 550 car:
    http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat...true#Post379816

    What should they be?

    Re: Performance Table

NOTE: if you guys give me numbers, I will update the pic in the first post...

(you will need to refresh though to see changes as the pic will have the same name as before, just updated)

    Re: Performance Table

Here are the results of the tested car (1620 kg weight):

Power at wheels: 357 kW or 486 HP
Max. lat. accel.: 1.1 G (Michelin Cup)
    0-100 kph: 3.9 sec
    0-200 kph: 11.1 sec
    0-250 kph: 18.0 sec
    0-300 kph: 32.1 sec

See the discrepancy? You used the 0-200 km/h figure for the 0-160 km/h time and 0-250 km/h figure for the 0-200 km/h time.

    Re: Performance Table

Gotcha, will update the table in the morning

    Re: Performance Table

Alex, could you add 100-200 and 60-130 times? Thanks. Most of my 0-xx times are going to be misleading due to the soft launch. Great idea!

    Re: Performance Table

Where did you get the CG times from? I wouldnt use CG times and compare them against times from Rennteamers. I mean you could but I wouldnt call that accurate. If they are you own #'s from your car than that would be useable.

CG times are initially from Cargraphic so I agree probably not reliable but they claim that these numbers will be in the edition of Sport Auto mag out on Friday, as tested by them.....
    Eclou
Do you have decent 100-200kph times using 2nd 3rd and 4th so the data can be comparable ?

I wouldnt really compare #'s from a magazine staff driver vs. posters either. Now if someone here can post the CG #'s that would be interesting. It just doesnt make sense to me that a kit that comprises of an exhaust & ecu and 100hp less would be faster than a car w/ 100+hp more w/ an ecu, exhaust, headers, IC'ers, Larger throttle body, larger plenum, Larger Modded VTG Turbos, etc. In some cases all of the above plus engine work. But if it turned out to be true it would be the performance mod. bargain of a lifetime. A $7k mod. that beats out mods. costing 4 to 10+ times as much. I dont buy it but if true it could save me a lot of dough so would be interested in a 'regular guys' CG stats.

    Re: Performance Table

Could you hook a Performance Box to your car and do the same tests we did Alex? That way we can make a more accurate comparison between our cars here.

    Re: Performance Table

I'll have more 2-shift 100-200 and 60-130 data as soon as the next local event allows. No more impromptu testing for me...

agree, those numbers are extremely optimistic. we need an actual customer to duplicate them if possible.

    Re: Performance Table

Dont forget to mention the Cargraphic time is also with upgraded intake manifolds , and maybe a little more horsepower than what we all assume

Yes, I know I need to get you guys some Performance Box figures. However 2 snags:

    1) I only have 2000 miles on the clock and now no warranty - so I am trying to be kind to my engine (and stock-clutch) for a couple more 1000 miles.
    2) There is nowhere I know of locally that I can legally (or otherwise) get to 200kph let alone 300kph. So I need to find a runway somewhere. I think there are a few events coming up that may help with this though.

One hint: the Rt12 figures are not correct. AB achieved the following results:

    0-100 kph: 3.4s
    0-160 kph: 6.7s
    0-200 kph: 9.8s
    0-300 kph: 24.8s

BTW: It's a great idea to summarize all these figures in one table

    Alex
I don't know where you live but my mate can easily wind his 550+ hp 993tt up to 150 on any number of flatish straights within 10 miles of his house - this is the point of 800NM you only need a short straight to do the run and back down again - how many stretches of dual carriage way are there near you ? My pal would just do a reccy both ways to check it is safe then give it the beans - ever since I was 18y/o I have found places to do this sort of thing in safety (OK got banned once for 200kph in a 100kph )) but that was driving cars which took a mile or more to wind up to high speed

    Re: Performance Table

Just some notes on the figures:
The CG544 numbers are from a CG fact sheet which was issued early this week said to be from the SA road test. The fact sheet states car weighing 1630kg + driver and passenger yet the numbers 0-100 and 0-200kph are identical to the ones given in the other mag article which states weight as 1550kg - I suspect CG has got its data wrong and the 29.2s 0-300 CG544 is indeed the 1550kg car -this should be noted in the table, it is a light car !

Eclou's numbers and the Ruf 550 numbers were both with driver only so again needs to be noted since this can be worth up to 0.5s 100-200kph...

Eclou's 0-300kph was in hot conditions into a headwind so not really comparable with others but hopefully a 2nd gear start 100-250kph may be forthcoming with passanger which can be used as comparison...

As a matter of interest CG have done a 997tt for the tuner GP, carbon doors hood etc, seats weight down to 1482kg and the RS 624hp kit - now that will be interesting

    Re: Performance Table

    Hello guys,

    You can also add my results just for comparison, i have;

    Tiptronic 997 TT
FVD stage 2+ (ECU + headers + BMC + catless exhaust)

    0-100km = 3.4s
    100-200km = 6.95s
    200-250km = 6.8s

    Here are the links

I will also post my 100-300 run today.

    Cheers

Toby - you are a very bad influence!! Look what you did to poor Eclou the other day!

    150kph; no problem.

150mph; no chance, given the guy that recently got put in prison for doing high speeds in a 997TT around here (in the very same car I have test driven myself).

100-200kph = 62-124mph. Anything over 100mph and you automatically lose your license. So not worth it in my opinion. Tracks, and Autobahns however, bring them on!!

    Re: Performance Table

The carrera GT weight of 1380 kgs is dry.

On the road weight for a version with aircon and Bose sound system is closer to 1500 kgs.

Actually the Carrera GT weight of 1380kg is supposed to be DIN ie wet 90% full fuel tank as you say all "normal" spec CGTs weighed in around 1475kg - there must be a zero optioned bare bones CGT somewhere knocking around in Germany
Real bug bear of mine this - Porsche went from quoting realistic DIN weights to fantasy poverty spec ones sometime in the late '90s.....

You are correct! My bad. 1380 kgs unladen weight DIN.
Having said that, all GT out there are weighted at close to 100 kgs more!
Seems Porsche, like most makers is very optimistic about its cars weight.

are all european tests done with a passenger in the car ? I think most US tests are done with driver only.

Yeah something like that. Sauerkrauts and Macaronis do have a few things in common...
