    Toby - wow!!!

    Am I reading this right:

    0-100 = 3.8s
    0-200 = 11.1s

And you say you got a crappy start?!

    Re: Performance Table

    Great run Toby!!

    Re: Performance Table

    Thanks guys

    Just some notes;

I did about 25 runs up 300kph with the maximum before breaking zone being 313kph at which point I am just over 7000rpm anyway so no more to come.

The run I have posted is the fastest with them getting faster as the car got lighter as the fuel depleted.

I will post a video of the standing start, I only did two because like most of us, I don't enjoy the stress that it puts on the car, but yes it was a crappy start first gear a mash of wheelspin but straight into second which gives full grip and we are off

The airstrip is a horrible surface, we are attempting some calculations to determine how much acceleration it "costs" compared to smooth asphault, and of course it is up hill - for reference my 100-200kph on a flat smooth surface is around 6.6s and on this run (which the car is probably 40kg lighter) takes 7s.

Alex, re the 0-200kph, also remember the 993tt takes 3 gearchanges to get there unlike the 996/997tts

I was very pleased that my new spoiler set up proved aerodynamically pretty good although we are calculating the drag coefficient of my GT2 arched 993tt based on some "coastdown" runs from 275kph which I did - it is looking like around Cd0.36 TBC....

My pal's stock bodied 993tt with RS Tuning 533PS engine weighing 1630kg was posting 0-300 equivalents of around 36 seconds which is about the same as that 997GT2 which is making me interested that it is CdA which we should be looking at since the 993tt has Cd 0.34 CdA 0.656 and the 997GT2 has Cd 0.32 CdA 0.66 - looks like the CdA is the real determinant of high speed acceleration

Another car hampered in the 0-300kph by its aerodynamics, take one perfectly good "aero tuned by Porsche" 997 turbo add a lairy bodykit, get the TUV to OK that it doesn't take off in the windtunnel so you can say it is "wind tunnel tested" and increase the CdA from 0.59 to 0.68 without giving significant downforce

That is the green car right ? what is funny is one of the bosses of Techart was telling his UK distributor that this car had more like 680hp.......

The green one is about the same 0-300kph - it was tested at Bruntingthorpe airstrip where I did my run above and got a similar top speed so 0-300 is right around the 30s mark

One hint: the Rt12 figures are not correct. AB achieved the following results:

    0-100 kph: 3.4s
    0-160 kph: 6.7s
    0-200 kph: 9.8s
    0-300 kph: 24.8s

just wondering... how come these are not reflected in the table? especially the 0-300kmh times?

    Re: Performance Table

Table updated. Please Ctrl-F5 first page to see new table.

    Re: Performance Table

I have performed a few extra tests, more specific the 0-100kph test and the 100-200 kph test. Total km on the car: 6500km
Here are the best results for both cases:
    0-100kph (3.5 seconds)

    100-200kph (6.15 seconds):

    Re: Performance Table

    Nice numbers Rami

    Updated the table for you...

    Rami,

Can you please post the elevation of the runs?

    Thanks

    Re: Performance Table

Today I have performed what looks to me as the perfect launch.
    0-100kph: 3.2 seconds
    0-200kph: 10.1 seconds
    0-402m (quarter mile): 11.0 seconds (@ 209.6kph)

Here is the result sheet of the run:

I don't think I will be improving that result any time soon.
The launch was awesome and the shiftpoints were near perfect.
The car had 6750km and the temperature was 17.5*C
The softtop was closed and the AC was off, as well as the PSM.

    Re: Performance Table

Great numbers from standstill , but what happened to your 100-200? it was a lot faster earlier. different shifting points ?

Yeah, it was like 6,2 seconds. What happened?

    Re: Performance Table

    Rami,

I would like to learn the slope of your runs,
What was the height at the start and in the end ?
    Thanks!

    Re: Performance Table

Nice launch Rami. 3.2s 0-100 is stellar!

No, the previous 100-200kph result was a standalone 100-200kph test. The 6.15 seconds was achived by putting the car in 3rd gear at around 85kph and then flooring it. This basically means that you have one less shifting point (2nd to 3rd).

It was a flat road WhiteKnight. I don't know how to pull that sort of data from the Racelogic box though

    Re: Performance Table

Here is also a nice one:
    two runs with a 997 GT3 RS from 9ff with 9xx RWHP.

0-100 was done at 3,81 Sec.

    Re: Performance Table

and here is a fast 100-200 try in my 996 GT2 (530 RWHP) done only in 4th gear

    Re: Performance Table

    and same car (GT2) 100-300 in 28,5s

    Re: Performance Table

    rs38, thanks for sharing

Does the crappy 0-100kph of the 9ff car mean it has a really bad power delivery with narrow (albeit massive) power band, or is it just lack of traction ? Regardless, a very fast 0-300kph....

Your 996 GT2 is performing pretty nicely for 530hp, looks like a thermally well balanced package

worth noting that your 100-200kph is using just 1 gear change (presumably ) - the ones calculated above are accelerating through the gears so 2 changes, worth another ~0.3s....

    Re: Performance Table

I just created a tiny tool to p a r s e .dbn files for certain accelerations or brake situations, like here in the performance table.

there is also a nice batch mode to scan several .dbn files for certain speed ranges.

Then you can sort the runs by the column of your chioce and copy and paste it to Excel, email or this forum.

Yellow background in some fields indicates some values out of valid ranges.

I also added a corrected time value that calculates the up/downhill advantage in the time!
It needs Windows and .NET Framework 2.0.

Try it and I'm looking forward for some feedback.
