    Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attraction

    Location: Little Saigon, Westminster, California

    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract

    The wax btw is Zaino C2 and C8 on most panels, and rejax on places where the bugs like to attack my car and where those little black dots like to appear: front, rear, behind wheels. The wheels and yellow brakes also have rejax on of course.

    Beautiful pictures as usual Can! You've really managed to capture the essence of Guards Red at its very best.

    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract

    Wow Cannga, car looks like hot molten lava - scorching!!

    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract

    Do you run, by any chance, your very own car-wash?

    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract

    Cann - You should send your pics to Porsche or a magazine. With the settings that Porsche can provide you & your mad photo skills I would bet anything they'd sell more cars.

    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract

    Very nice Can, I would start selling the pics to HRE as advertising!!

    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract

    ~~~drool~~~
    Interior too please. Damn nice.
    Haha! Good one.
    Nice work Cannga!. BTW, you chose THE best wheels for our cars IMO.
    If I may say so, it almost sounds like you're considering getting these wheels along with the red tailights.
    Cute dog, Alex!
    Thanks, she is quite a bit bigger now - that was taken when approx 12 weeks old!
    Yes, owe my car's good looks to Cannga though...
    LOL. Yup. Those would be the two improvements! Would be nice to just write the check ( ) and wave a magic wand: done! Instead, I gotta do a lot of running around (time issues) to accomplish it.
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract
    Gee..., hummmm..., funny how the fog and blurriness just happens to cover the house and other car.
    Hahaha! Nice work.
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract
    MMD, if life only was much easier. And yep, the background is blurred nicely as to lessen the attention detracted from the beautiful car in front.
    fab car!!!!!
    Can I ask you more info about Rejax? this is the first time I read about.....
    Grazie in advance
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract
    Andrea:
    here's RejeX link:
    http://corrosionx.com/rejex.html
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract
    Thanks guys! *Really*! Posting on Porsche forums is the inspiration for my photo shoot. It would be so boring with no one to share the pics with!
    MMD, thanks for the comment. I like my wheels and know what you mean, but definitely don't consider them the "best" per se. There is no such thing as we all have different tastes. Believe it or not, I am still looking at wheels, all the times. The other day I was lusting after eclou's Graphite Grey PES GP7, in between looking at Stradale's Champions, etc., etc., and on and on.
    Gregg,
    Thanks. I prefer rennteam to magazines! Camaraderie to fame & fortune! Just kidding; I really am just an amateur.
    Andrea,
    See MMD's link. Rejex is a wax that could be used for the whole car, but is supposed to be particularly good for tough areas such as the wheels. I am testing out the Zaino stuffs to see if it looks more "wet." Eric of BumperPlugs.com, who posted above, is a Rejex dealer I think.
    Eric,
    Interior is just straightforward beige (I'm a red and tan Ferrari wannabe. ).
    Alex,
    I actually downloaded your picture the other day to add Turbo RSC to it, but didn't go through because the EVO was too prominent. The look of your all painted car is growing on me!
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract
    Cannga, those wheels do a great job complimenting the car (they are just curve-y enough) AND they downplay all the venty, slatty, wingy look that the stock wheels just add to. REALLY the nicest "classic" look, IMO.
    I use RejeX only on the front and rear bumpers, makes bug jerky flake right off in front. _Seems_ to make oily exhaust deposits on rear come off easier. Some guys do the whole car; they say it looks great.
    I'm too lazy to strip off all the wax and start over with RejeX on the whole car. R. _only_ sticks to itself or bare paint (all wax etc. must be removed) and a few more steps are involved in applying it.
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract
    Gorgeous as always my friend
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attraction
    Great camera work. What type of camera did you use?
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract
    @Cannga & MMD: thanks for the info!
    Re: Picture Time: Porsche Turbo - The Star Attract
    Hi Nick,
    Camera is Canon DSLR 1D, lens is Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L--a versatile and well known zoom. Normally I actually use another lens, Canon 85 1.2 L, sort of the equivalence of your car in the camera world, but not this day (see enclosed picture I took with this lens in Greece last year). The camera itself is good, but not really "better" than any Canon/Nikon consumer DSLR one could get at Best Buy, etc.
    As you might already know, just like a case in your profession , presentation, lighting and setting up are much more important, **in general**: No direct midday sunlight, no competing objects/cars/people, most of the times I prefer the longer focal length of 85 and open the lens up to f/2.8 to f/4 or so to blur the background, lower your camera angle by sitting down, etc. Pardon me if you are already a photography nut and this is old news. Otherwise, if you have questions about basic photography, just fire away; I am an amateur but I think I (& others like Jason) could help.
    MMD,
    I still remember you were one of the first to complain about the Turbo's multiple "vents/wings/slats" LOL, which I agreed with. The OEM wheels do have 15 little slats per wheel, and I am a little surprised they last you so long. But really, as mentioned above, just another matter of pers. pref.; some people order it as an option, and I do look at them in other cars once in a while and sometimes wish I had kept them.
    Andrea,
    You are welcome. Like MMD, I too use Rejex (sorry for the misspelling at the beginning of the thread, Rejex, not Rejax) for front & rear bumpers in addition to the wheels and brakes. It does work to make the wheels easier to clean (per my own a/b comparison). BTW, also: Zaino Z2 and Z8, not C2 and C8.
